24.01.2022 Hi Emmo Respectfully I totally disagree, if we are talking about Elite Energy Events then that is different, cause you are a much much much smaller company then the multi billion dollar world of Ironman. They are not struggling like yourself or HEvents or any other smaller company. I am sick of hearing it will go towards landfill or eco system and all that Bullshit, the only thing going to landfill is the boxes. Triathletes are weird and greedy, you are half right about the... bike but if they want it they will get it. Just like 2020 merchandise- sell it at half price it will all go - NO PROBLEM. We all know it’s a 400% markup but we still buy it. The majority of people I talk to just want the medal in the year that they raced, the other stuff goes in the washing machine or the man cave. I have organised medals before from Australian companies $10-$12 for 50. But all you guys get, I am going to assume 90%, sorry if I am wrong all your merch from CHINA. So how is that helping and yes it’s not your fault Australians rely on cheap China SHIT !! So we pay $1000 or $500 to do an Ironman or 70.3 - just get us a medal with 2021 on it. And another thing (Ironman) don’t lie about it and tell us 6 weeks out put out in a survey like you do a week after a race to get feedback. This greedy decision was made months ago. Also there is a company in Australia who can do medals in a 2 week turn around. Go Figure. As for Elite and the other small companies who organise races in Australia - I personally thank you and encourage my crew as well as myself to get to as many races as possible. Because when you are gone there will only be Ironman races left and well how much is an entry fee going to cost then. Happy Easter Emmo and your crew, sorry to disagree but I do get your point.

19.01.2022 Once upon a time there was a really awesome Ironman at Forster/Tuncurry run by G.L.I.T.A and a champion Race Director Ken Baggs with his wife Glenda and the tremendous crew that started the first ever Australian Ironman. If you were old enough or lucky enough to have raced there, you would have had the pleasure of meeting and or running with this Legend, hey Ted Anderson. Regarded as the Godfather of Ironman with his 5 boys all racing and their families over the years, he was a world champ at Kona, Australian inductee Hall of famer, a gentleman, an icon to the sport and a top bloke - Vale Bobby Southwell

Rutherford Telarah Rotary - Maitland are the organisers and Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) are the beneficiaries. Dan Huber who organised the Black Cat last weekend is in charge of the run. It’s COVID safe with only athletes allowed out in the grounds. There a few hills but it’s a course for all abilities.
