17.01.2022 Matt Burton’s agent David Riolo has asked for the Panthers to release the rising star to Canterbury immediately. Stating "Burton 100% wants to be released." These sorts of situations seem to be occurring more and more often in the modern game. With Players under contracts no longer wanting to be with their current club or clubs no longer wanting players that are still under contract. Should the NRL bring forth a new system to fix these problems or do players and clubs just ...need to abide by contracts. It's a tough topic because these situations can stop players reaching their full potential and on the other hand negatively impact a clubs season!! Thoughts on these types of situations?
