It was such a lovely connection the husband contacted me - his wife’s original tote from a few years ago was in need of an update - would I be able to create her a new one? Each linen teatowel passes through our hands 11 different times in all the processes it takes from start to finish. And that’s without the initial design time to create the image to begin with (this part can take the longest!) . Handmade is definitely slower made but you can feel it- & I think it feels different buying or gifting handmade. ... . 11.01.2022 Last week @orange_peel_art_ and I had a class of students from Tafe come & visit our studio in Cairns. They were all English language students and as an art component they wanted to visit a working studio. . They were from all over the world - Morocco, Indonesia, Congo, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Phillipines- what a colourful and happy bunch of people! We aren’t allowed to show you any photos of them (Tafe rules!?!) however they took lots of us and sent them through some so ...I now have some great shots of us in the studio. These creatures are just nuts, they build a leaf lined chamber and the female lays an egg which she incubates on her belly for 10 days till it hatches (the male platypus feeds her during this incubation time thankfully!) 06.01.2022 Such a gorgeous coast drive - we drive this early early early on a Sunday each week to set up for the markets. . Although it’s a shock to the system when the alarm goes off - I actually really love watching the days change and shift throughout the year. . In June it’s pitch black and sunrise happens when we arrive at the markets, in mid December it’s sunrise as we wake and as the seasons shift we see everything in between these. ... .
