04.01.2022 A good friend of mine forwarded this puzzle to me and many may have already seen this. Wanted to share this here to highlight how our minds can make certain assumptions. I like puzzles and proceeded to give the answer. I was convinced it was the right answer. But I had made some mental assumptions and raced to the answer and I was wrong! I was not systematic to my approach in this case. When we take a good dental history using checklists and have a systematic approach to ...our dental examination routine, we leverage from making assumptions to evidence based conclusions. We can even find things we were not looking for. Amazes me how many Dentists only administer a Medical History Checklist but not a Dental History Checklist with their patients ! 01.01.2022 As the festive season draws upon us, I wish you all a safe and happy Christmas and a Happier 2021. What a Year it has been ! Whilst some of you did well in your businesses, others went through real hard times. Here is hoping that we have or will pull through this difficult time, and that 2021 will bring us better cheer. Personally, I took the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and camping pretty much since March. I also discovered the online training platform. I worked hard t...o develop 2 online courses - one for Dentists and one for Receptionists and was heartened to see the response and the wonderful feedback. I also designed online-live zoom sessions for new graduates and final year students transitioning into private practice and was rewarded by a huge audience of 400+ online. I am currently developing the online modules for practice managers and owners and I think you will enjoy those. It is not that easy to package 34 years of learning from trial and error, mistakes, joys, and heartaches into 1-2 hour sessions or even 12 hour programmes! Well, now it is time for a well deserved break!
