13.01.2022 EPIC IS SUPER EXCITED !! We have launched the Food, Environment & Waste Directory SURVEY! Please SHARE! Go to the survey here.... https://www.surveymonkey.com/r.../Y3QFKHG The information gathered from the survey will help us to develop a Directory. Accessed via an online portal it will help you find resources & groups, individuals & businesses in the 3 categories of Food, Environment and Waste! Everyone from farmers, producers, individuals, markets, shops, schools, Enviro groups, ‘Friends of’ groups, Educators, community gardens, recyclers, people who need stuff and people who have stuff - you name it! Go to the Survey here.... https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Y3QFKHG The EPIC team are looking forward to progressing with this project! Interested in knowing more? Please read on.... The Shire of Yarra Ranges have funded EPIC Inc. through a Community Development Grant to produce an online Food Environment and Waste Directory. This Directory will be available to everyone in the community. The online portal will link community groups, individuals, businesses and producers, with options to source local food, environment and waste management options. This project will feature resources within the areas of the Shire of Yarra Ranges and the foothills. Do you want to be in the EPIC Directory? If you, your group, organisation, or business wish to participate, please complete the survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Y3QFKHG How will the EPIC Directory work? The online resource will create opportunities for similar and diverse groups, organisations and businesses, to connect across the region. These connections will provide further opportunity for shared knowledge and projects, greater community access to information and resources, and will also enable the possibility of alliance building. Autonomy remains for all. Nothing changes in the way each group or organisation operates. The EPIC Directory simply creates the opportunity to find each other, and the resources needed, in an easy to use and accessible format. What is EPIC? Education Permaculture Inspiration Community Inc (EPIC) is a not for profit community organisation based in the George Tindale Memorial Gardens, in Sherbrooke www.epicproject.org.au The Vision of EPIC is: ‘To work together to connect people and places, to inspire the community to embrace the ethics of Permaculture care of earth, care of people, and fair share for all’. EPIC is also underpinned by the core values of community health and wellbeing, resilience, the right to self-determination, and a sense of values ownership and belonging. Using these ethics and principles, EPIC is responsive to a groundswell of worldwide and local interest in permaculture, and sustainable and regenerative practices in our community. At EPIC we strongly believe that the provision of healthy and nutritious food, how we nurture the land, where and how we grow our food, and how waste is managed, are all interlinked. Critical to this is also the connection made between existing and prospective groups, individuals, organisations and businesses. Knowing what exists, where to nd it, and what is possible, saves time, resources and energy. Rollout of the EPIC Directory... Phase 1 : of this project will complete research / information gathering from the community (June to December 2019) Phase 2 : will be the development of an online portal to share this information with the Community in 2020. The EPIC team are very much looking forward to working with you all to bring together this important resource for our community. If you are not sure what to do, or want further information please feel free to speak to us. Contacts Holly Desmond ph: 0407 319 916 Cheryle Foster ph: 0409 009 949

06.01.2022 A matter of urgent business! At last nights meeting of the newly founded Knox Climate Emergency Alliance, it was revealed that the Blind Creek reimagining proje...ct, which was due to commence construction in last month, has been halted by a lack of funding to deliver this important project. After extensive consultation with the local community over many months, this project has apparently been cancelled in the last week! State member for Bayswater, Jackson Taylor, has agreed to meet this Sunday at 1pm at Fairpark Reserve (on the corner of Manuka Drive and Scoresby Road) to hear the communities concerns. Please attend if you can and please share around! Let’s get this project back on track!
