22.01.2022 Thousands of grams of flour, hundreds of litres of milk and some rapidly expanding waistlines due to to COVID restrictions the Bundaberg Queensland Country Women's Association had to think outside the box for the annual scone festival. Instead they did a scone Drive-Thru to raise funds for the community. But President of the group Lyn Tucker says it’s about more than that. It's not just about raising money for helping women and children and families, It's also about companionship and about getting together for a chinwag. She said. Great job ladies!

19.01.2022 100 year-old Tao Portion-Lynch, has been practising yoga for over 90 years now! She started yoga at the age of 7, after seeing some boys doing yoga on the beach in India. Even back then she defied expectations pursuing it when her Aunty told her it was just for boys. She still teaches yoga classes in New York and we think she is truly incredible!

It’s about getting out of your comfort zone. You raised your children, your children left, you did what you had to do, now you have to look to yourself. We are so impressed by his skill and determination.

15.01.2022 September is Dementia Awareness month. Earlier in the year, 87 year-old Hendrika's family set up a supermarket in their house. Going to the supermarket is part of her everyday routine and because of COVID-19 she hasn't been able to do this. Recreating this experience for her at home has helped with her mental health and made her feel more at ease. Isolation can be particularly difficult and confusing for people with Dementia and this family's innovative thinking has really made a difference. We love this!

15.01.2022 Wow!! Not even lockdown can stop 93 year old Ron from doing what he loves, cycling. Having been on a bike since 1946, he now rides almost 250 km a week. And he plans to keep on riding until he no longer can! Keep up the fabulous work Ron!! What’s a hobby that you love?

11.01.2022 Even during isolation this 81 year-old is keeping positive and dancing when her grandkids drive past for a visit. We love her positivity, how amazing! "Went to drive past Nana's house to cheer her up and she ended up cheering us up."

11.01.2022 Derlin is not just your average pizza delivery man. At 89-years-old he’s gained quite the following online after he befriended a family during one of his delivery runs. His sweet conversion sparked an ongoing relationship and they continued to order from him regularly. They learnt he worked 5 - 6 shifts a week to make ends meet, so the family reached out to the wider online community for some help and raised $12,000 for Derlin. You can see from his reaction how much this really means to him. We love seeing communities come together to help amazing people.

Despite many regional newspapers unfortunately folding during the pandemic, with Norm at the helm, The Mr Barker Courier continues to service it's community. ... 10.01.2022 Today is Aged Care Employee Day. We want to say #thanksforcaring to our amazing team and everyone else around the country who is working hard to keep older Australians living safely at home, particularly during this daunting time.

10.01.2022 Wow! We love reading stories like this. To thank workers at the Cedars Sinai hospital, Margarita Montanez spent 5 days making 800 tamales. The grandma of 12 spent many days at the hospital in the intensive care unit with COVID-19, and was grateful for the care she received from the amazing doctors and nurse. ... An amazing gesture! We wish Margarita all the best from her recovery.

09.01.2022 Happy Friday! 86 year-old Sally and her 83 year-old husband Ken are spreading joy even during their home isolation! Both have Dementia, but Sally still plays piano without music to keep them and has Ken as her back up dancer. So special, we hope you love this video as much as we do. Have a wonderful weekend!

05.01.2022 Julian is 87 and has Parkinson's Disease. Four times a week he sees his personal trainer Michael and uses exercises to strengthen his body and increase his mobility. They have a pretty special bond and video their sessions everyday to share with Julian's wife, who he separated from due to COVID-19. We think Julian's strength and determination is incredible!
