23.01.2022 Another tragedy. RIP Detective Chief Supt Joanne Shanahan of SAPOL who recently lost her life in a traffic crash. Thoughts are with Chief Supt Shanahans family, friends, colleagues, and all of the first responders who have been touched by this event.

22.01.2022 As the L&J Dent Appeal will be closing on the 19 November 2020, I am putting out one last call for people to donate. Larissa is back at work, but Julian remains unable to work and both are facing further treatment and surgeries. So far we have raised $6,375.00, and hope to raise as much as we can before the Appeal closes. Please give whatever you can afford as every little bit adds up.

21.01.2022 Some more great client feedback which is always rewarding

21.01.2022 No way! It cant be.....a flawed appointment process??

21.01.2022 *** UPDATE - URGENT FUNDS NEEDED ***SENIOR CONSTABLE LARISSA DENT HAS BEEN RE-ADMITTED INTO HOSPITAL AND IS HAVING FURTHER SURGERY TOMORROW OR MONDAY. She has a temperature, and two more collections in her abdomen, and is potentially facing MAJOR surgery this time. What is guaranteed is that there will be further out of pocket medical expenses on top of approximately $10k worth of existing bills. Larissa's husband Julian is also suffering from cancer and has been unable ...to work for some time. We appreciate the incredibly generous donations received so far ($3230.00), but we are a long way off our goal of $10,000.00. I know there is some fundraising planned at a couple of locations for Larissa & Julian, and I thank the organisers from the bottom of my heart. Only 13 people have been generous enough to donate, despite these posts being shared over 70 times and reaching some 20,000 people! It has been disappointing to see that only a few of those donations have been from members of Larissa's Qld police family. Come on everyone - let's help these guys out and dig deep . It literally only takes 2 mins to do a direct bank transfer, and I am especially appealing to the police family to get behind this - even if it's a donation of $5.00. #QPS #Queenslandpoliceservice #thinblueline #supportaussiecops #trueblueline Donations can be made to: Account Name: L & J DENT APPEAL Account number: 64155909 BSB: 704 640 https://justice4workersqld.com.au/please-support-the-laris/

20.01.2022 Have you been looking for a reliable, trustworthy and independent option in workplace legal protection? Here it is.

20.01.2022 Such tragic news coming in from other media sources claiming 3 VICPOL police officers (possibly 4) have been killed in this crash. An absolutely devastating event. Justice 4 Workers is thinking of our interstate brothers and sisters in blue at this terribly difficult time, and also all Emergency Services personnel who attended this incident. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the officers, and also their friends and colleagues. Life really is so precious - please reach out to one another as you work through your insurmountable grief. RIP

19.01.2022 Just letting everyone know in advance that after a very hectic 2020, Im taking a break at the end of this week. The office and emails will be unattended during that time. Please note that Sibley Lawyers remains open for business as usual, and it is only the office of J4W that will be closed during the below period.

19.01.2022 Police at a Brisbane Station are frustrated at being told not to arrest a teenager wanted for questioning over a number of stealing and UUMV offences. An email was disseminated stating that the teen has a fractured leg that he re-injures each time he runs from police. WFQ flags have been removed after the advice from senior QPS Management. Commmunity members say that the male is not capable of running due to his injuries, and needs treatment before he is fit for police custody

19.01.2022 WARNING: CONTAINS TRIGGERS. Reading this story was exactly like reading about WorkCover Qld and what psychologically injured workers go through during the claims process. Very sad indeed.

18.01.2022 A tribute to Australian Police and the dangers they face. Thank you to all our brave police men and women for the job you do. WARNING - Actual police footage. May trigger some.

18.01.2022 How fantastic is it to see Constable Peter McAulay doing so well and returning to work! What a massive recovery! How fantastic is it to see Constable Peter McAulay doing so well and returning to work! What a massive recovery!

17.01.2022 Contrary to what many may believe, the Roll of Honour is not limited to those who lose their life in an act of bravery whilst taking down an offender. You can collapse and die at your desk and have your name recorded on the roll. You can die of a heart attack whilst mowing a police compound or washing a police vehicle and still make the Roll of Honour for dying on duty. But those who sustain a work related psychological injury and sadly succumb by taking their own lives are not included. If you think this is wrong please sign. Link to the e-petition is in the comments.

16.01.2022 An evening update on the Essential Services Package for Police and Corrective Services from Sibley Lawyers. The usual limitation we have to give: Sibley Lawyers does not give you insurance advice and anything we have said/say about the policy is general in nature. The insurance policy has been arranged for our clients based on their needs as a cohort (that is based on the unique protection requirements of Police and Corrective Services Officers). We cannot advise you if the insurance is suitable for you as an individual.

13.01.2022 This is such sad news. Thinking of the family of Special Junior Constable Travis Heery at this incredibly sad time

11.01.2022 Thinking of our police following this tragic event. These people go to work each day not knowing what they will encounter. None of them ever wish to shoot someone during their shift, but sometimes critical decisions must be made in order for our police to return safely home to their families at the end of the day. My thoughts are also with the family of the deceased male.

11.01.2022 Sounds incredibly familiar unfortunately.

10.01.2022 A good news story thats long overdue. Lets hope ()the review leads to some serious changes to the current situation, and results in a subsequent review and overhaul of the QPS Ethical Standards Command. Im not holding my breath but Im always hopeful that one day things will change.

10.01.2022 Last month I posted that there was some big news coming to Justice 4 Workers. Today I'm proud to finally be able to announce that Justice 4 Workers has partnered with Sibley Lawyers to provide workplace legal protection for sworn and un-sworn Queensland Police and Corrective Services personnel. This product is underpinned by a dedicated insurance policy designed specifically for the needs of frontline workers. For more information please see the link below.

10.01.2022 Thinking of the police and other first responders involved. Thoughts are also with the mans family. There are never any winners in these incidents

10.01.2022 You dont have to fight alone!

08.01.2022 We are supporting our police, firies and ambos who work tirelessly to protect our community. The Territory is now one of the first Australian jurisdictions t...o provide presumptive legislation for PTSD for our police, firies and ambos. We are also leading the nation with an additional four cancers now recognised in our cover for Territory firefighters. This means that PTSD and the newly recognised cancers are recognised to have been caused by work unless the employer can establish otherwise - allowing our frontline workers to access the appropriate care and compensation faster.

08.01.2022 FUNDRAISING UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that we have raised $4.175.00 so far for Larissa and Julian, who are incredibly grateful for your generous donations. Larissa was recently re-admitted to ICU and underwent more surgery. After being discharged for a short time, Larissa is unfortunately back in hospital again awaiting a transfer to RBWH where it is likely she will undergo major surgery. If you havent yet donated and are in a position to do so, please see the link below for account details. Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated https://justice4workersqld.com.au/please-support-the-laris/

08.01.2022 Stay tuned for a big announcement that I cant wait to tell you all! Be sure to invite all of your friends and colleagues who work in essential services to like this page so they dont miss out! This will be of particular interest to Queensland Police Officers, Civilian QPS employees, and Queensland Corrective Services Personnel ....

06.01.2022 The Government's decision to allow early withdrawal of Superannuation is a time bomb sitting underneath young people's retirements. Withdrawing $10,000 will wreak havoc on your fund when it comes time to retire Please don't touch your super.

05.01.2022 In mid 2018, Justice 4 Workers submitted approximately 200 pages of material to Work Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ), raising concerns about the risk management practices of the Queensland Police Service. The information highlighted the issues of workplace bullying, suicide, and psychological injuries, and the organisation's record keeping in relation to these matters. An unprecedented review was conducted by WHSQ, which was overseen by the Deputy Director General of th...Continue reading
