16.01.2022 Some posters I produced for uni assessment. We had to choose a mock event to promote so I chose cupping. I am really loving graphic design - one of the best decisions I made I think. It's the complete opposite of my pencil work which I love because it's challenging in different ways and keeps my mind fresh :)

10.01.2022 This is one of my recent uni projects for photography. ‘The Protean Self’ is a project which photographically explores the protean nature of being human we exist in an ever-changing state, progressively transforming as we move through life. Captured through portraiture, this body of work acts as a snapshot into just one of the many stages within the journey. It is intended that by applying a focus on just one stage, the viewer can then reflect on the changing nature of life... as a whole, and appreciate the now whatever stage that may be at this time. I chose the preadolescent stage of life primarily because it fit my circumstances at the time having two of them at home during the Covid-19 isolation period. More importantly though, having raised three daughters and one son to preadolescence and beyond, I felt confident to offer an authentic insight into this stage of life articulated through images. With remnants of child behaviour, yet intentions of a teenager, pre-teens unwittingly offer up open displays of exploration and transitions one’s which are yet to be moderated by the self-conscious and secretive teenage mind. As captured images they offer a very interesting visual language one which I hope the viewer can reminisce upon and reflect against their own journey.. https://justinebrentnall.com/the-protean-self-1

07.01.2022 This was a commissioned drawing for a birthday present. I love the idea of this, it's a beautiful thought. It's always my favourite part of drawing - turning a favourite phone photo that you can't enlarge and print into an artwork on the wall. It makes my work satisfying!

05.01.2022 I just completed a drawing of these 3 little cuties. It was put together from about 6 photos as the original photo had very little detail and taking new photos was not an option. 04.01.2022 Here is a project I did last semester. I made a zine, the topic was The Anthropocene. I found this really interesting in the sense that you can connect with it on many different levels from a global perspective right down to a personal level. For the project I focused on the issue of food production. I took it down to a personal level by sharing how I grow some of the fruit and vegetable we eat at home. I believe this is one way all humans can contribute positive action, big or small, toward reducing the human impact on the environment. 01.01.2022 I'm excited to share some images from a photo shoot I did recently with Jeannie from InAlignment Personal Training and Wellbeing. It was a pretty intense shoot as the girls worked hard the whole time but they definitely made it look easy! They were amazing. I know Jeannie through Flexit Gym 24/7, she has to be one of the most positive people I know with an infectious enthusiasm for empowering people to live a holistic, balanced, and healthy lifestyle - its an amazing quality she has - a beautiful lady and amazing local business.
