22.01.2022 Hi how are you going with finding some sums for your kids to do? Teachers are busy planning materials for them for the coming weeks. Meanwhile, here is a website that I use for years 4 to 9. There are lots of video lessons, worksheets and practice tests with answers. www.corbettmaths.com Enjoy!... www.justmathswork.com.au See more

21.01.2022 As the school year draws to a close, many students are relieved that tests are behind them for this year. If your year wasn’t all that you’d hoped it would be, remember that every day brings a new opportunity. If you or your student would like to set aside a few hours to go over some maths topics before the new school year begins, then send me a private message or email me: [email protected] I wish you all and of course my current students a blessed Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year. Julienne

19.01.2022 Hi, how are you enjoying the school holidays? In two weeks time, we'll all be back to our routines! Learning is exciting when you understand the jargon of the subject, but not so great when you don't, eh? For instance, although I find Maths fascinating, I don't feel quite the same about politics. That is because I need a competent, clear thinking expert with a great deal of patience to guide me into all things political - good luck with that:) So, ask anyone, I'm very patien...t and am happy to take you back to the basics if you missed a topic at school for some reason. If you are feeling a little out of your depth with your child's mathematics, think about bringing a friend for a Parents Group Class during school hours. We can cover any topics up to and including Year 10, and share the cost at the same time. My weekly schedule is filling fast, so check out my regenerated website and send me an email through the Contact page. Here it is: www.justmathswork.com.au

15.01.2022 How does online tutoring work for JustMathsWork? 1. I use either Skype or FaceTime - Zoom to be trialled soon! 2. I cheerily welcome my student/s and ask about their homework. If they say I don’t have any, I reply that’s ok, I’ll make up some fun questions for us to try together! We then find the right level of difficulty and I write either on the white board or on paper, revealing solutions as we go. ... We chuckle a lot! After the lesson, I scan the documents or white board and email the notes in PDF form to be printed at home if needed. I then have a record of the students work to begin with next lesson. The students really seem to enjoy our face to face, one on one sessions:) You might like to give a go? - personally or for your child or your Grandparents? if they’re twiddling their thumbs at the moment!!! Students are actively engaged for about 45minutes while you relax in the background. Would anyone like a lesson in long division? Let me know! Meditating on the good things in life is very therapeutic- for me, Maths is one of those things!! www.justmathswork.com.au

13.01.2022 Thinking of my students as they sit for tests this week! Your hard work, organisation and consistent application will reward you! A weekly study plan including 5 sessions per week for each challenging subject like Mathematics will assist you to keep up with each new concept and skill presented in class daily! Don’t underestimate the time and research required for assignments and ask for guidance if you need it! ... Much is required; more than you might anticipate! Call me if you need help:) Happy holidays! Julienne

06.01.2022 Given the uncertainty in today’s health crisis, I have decided that in order to keep to social distancing requirements, that all maths lessons (years 4 to 12+) will be conducted online beginning tomorrow Monday 23 March. There is an opportunity for learning in small groups via Zoom with shared costs. I am currently tutoring several students online and always send the scanned lesson notes to an email address at the end of the lesson. Students are usually very good with tech...nology and are happy to be in their own relaxed environment. Wishing you and your family good health and support during this challenging period in our history. Warm Regards, Julienne Just. www.justmathswork.com.au

02.01.2022 It is important for our kids to have a holiday after a long term. However sometimes a lesson or two to review last term’s work builds confidence to face whatever is coming next. There may just be that one concept that is letting them down- fractions, operations with negative numbers, or more abstract topics. All work is done via FaceTime, Skype or Zoom these days. No fixed contracts, just pay by bank transfer as you go:) If you have two students at the same level the cost i...s reduced. Do check out the website and contact me via the Contact Form if this applies to someone in your family. www.justmathswork.com.au
