25.01.2022 Morning everyone. Is there anyone who loves to sew, that could possibly make me some Joey pouches please. I am very happy to supply material and anything else that is needed. All my pouches are old and crappy so would like some nice new ones. Thanks so much.

23.01.2022 Hey everyone, Below is a gofund me page which is supporting James from Two Thumbs wildlife sanctuary that has tragically just been lost to the fires. The money will go towards rebuilding a sanctuary for all injured wildlife so James and his team can continue thier amazing and selfless work. ... https://www.gofundme.com/f/koala-habitat-and-bushfire-resea
23.01.2022 Morning all. I just wanted to share with you these amazing photos of this Brown Falcon, which my dearest friend Justine Rowe has taken. The interesting thing is that this Brown Falcon has yellowish legs/ feet, where the typical Brown Falcon normally has white or Blueish legs/feet. Any Raptor experts out there want to shed some light please?
23.01.2022 Hi everyone .please remember to stay safe over the next couple of days. I have finally just finished getting all the birds and joeys sorted. My hospital and house has birds in pet packs everywhere. So please stay safe and take care

19.01.2022 Youve just got to love a great release. Last Tuesday this beautiful Little Eagle was bowled over by a car. My biggest THANKS to Nicole Ridley who stopped and picked him up. The 1st pic was of a very sore and concussed bird. The other 2 pics are of him on his return to freedom. And also my biggest THANKS to the wonderful team at Sanford Vets.
19.01.2022 Well it's been a long 3 weeks but it has paid off. Baby Bobbie came in with a break to her Tibia which isn't normally that bad, but throw Rickettes into the mix and you know you’re in for a challenge. Apart from a break, the other leg was also compromised. Rickettes is caused from the wrong diet or not enough calcium, so as the bird grows the bones continue to break. I think this baby was the youngest of the clutch, therefore the older siblings would of got the food before her. Thankfully, by putting her on a correct diet her bones have now strengthened. So Baby Bobbie now has to simply strengthen her legs and hopefully she will be released.
16.01.2022 Morning all just reposting please if anybody knows where I can hire a post hole digger and trench digger to get these 2 avairys up and running. I have tried the hire shops but there price is well out if our budget. Would only need to use for 3 hours at the most. Many Thanks
15.01.2022 Hard to believe that 2 weeks ago this beautiful adult Male Whislting Kite was found so very sick and weak that he couldn't even hold his head up. He needs to have a moult for new feathers to grow before we even look at releasing him
14.01.2022 I wanted to take the opportunity to THANK Kim from Skippers transport for bringing up my net for me FREE OF CHARGE. There have been so many wonderful businesses over the years that have helped us out. Without your very generous help it would make running JUST RAPTORS just that bit more tough. So THANK THANK THANK YOU .
13.01.2022 Hi all . I am after a lift next week please for a Joey to go to a carer in Carnarvon . This little fella Actually needs to go to Karratha but if i can get it to Carnarvon thats a good start
13.01.2022 Morning everyone. Well things ( touch wood) have been relatively quiet here at Just Raptors so its Been a chance to catch up on all the boring stuff we have to do. I wanted to share with you some of the RARER Raptors that we have in AUSTRALIA. And ones we have been lucky enough to care for.... 1## Black Breasted Buzzard This female come into care as she just couldnt fly . It is so hard to work put what is going on with them when there are no physical injuries. After doing extensive blood test we found her liver function to be quiet low.and therefore when she flew would become very lethargic. She Was past on to a specialized Raptor Centre . Not sure if she is still alive. We got her in in 2000 2# Letter Winged Kites. Bella . She was bought to us in 1993 and had a fractured Radius and Ulna . She was part of a 30 bird flock that we saw put near Mullewa . These birds feed on the Bush Rats and follow the Rat Plaques. There are Semi Nocturnal and there Plumage is very similar to that of a Barn Owl. She was placed in a Breeding Progam and past away from old age . 3## Papuan New Guinea Goshawk. Ok.this one was our most unusual bird ever to come into care . Back in 1994 this bird was found on a Cray Boat out near the Abrolhis Islands. I first thought it was a starving juvenile Brown Goshawk but it had Blue Eyes. Blue Cere and Blue Legs. I contacted my friend Phil Pain at Eagles Heritage in Margaret River and told him . We where both a bit confused with why it had Blue Eyes. Legs .cere. The bird was absolutely starving and unfortunately past away. I sent the Bird to the Western Australia Muesum in Perth for Formal ID and it was a Papuan Goshawk. There was at that time a cyclone up north so we think it got blown of course. 4## Grey Falcon. Wadjarmi we named him He was on 12 weeks in when we got him after some workers finding him. They are the Rarest Falcon in Australia . Not sure of numbers but Im sure they are listed as endangered. He has come in with an eye injury and also a Break in the metacarpal joint. He now shares an aviary with a beautiful girl which hopefully they will breed .
13.01.2022 Our latest addition is EDDIE the Eagle who has come from De Grussa Mine at Sandfire. He is vision impaired ATM which we are going to the vets for further test. As you can see from the footage he has absolutely 100% trust in me. I am sitting on the floor in awe of this magnificent bird offering him his tea Moments like these just simply take my breathe away.

11.01.2022 Hi everyone update on Eddie the Eagle . He is doing really well but has UVEITIS . Which is inflammation of the iris. This is caused by either and infection or trauma to the eye. A course of steroid drops and he should be fine and his vision should return to normal.... He is putting on weight and starting to get cheeky . Many Thanks again to Sanford Vets for there amazing work See more
11.01.2022 Hi everyone i hope you are all safe and got through the weekend ok. We where very lucky kind of with only loosing 2 avairys. They are definitely fixable but just need someone who does on site Welding. This gorgeous little girl has come in today . My son Trent is practicing his wildlife skills to help me out.... We have named her KARRA. And she is a 4 week old Whislting Kite. I will be putting her in with my beautiful surrogate mum JAGER and then when she is old enough will be soft released from our property. Huge thanks to Don and Lynette who found her See more

10.01.2022 Out of all this sadness I thought I would share with you some fantastic news I received. As you are all aware I had a Go Fund Me page set up for a thermal imaging camera to go to Rachel. I contacted Dave from FLUKE AUSTRALIA and told him what I was after and what it was being used for. I also explained my situation in trying to purchase this camera. Last Sunday I rang and told him that I have the funding. Dave rang me back on the Monday and said that he spoken with Managemen...t and that they were donating a camera to Rachel as well! Last Wednesday Rachel received her camera and ours should be there this week. WOW unbelievable!! I would personally like to thank the wonderful management at FLUKE AUSTRALIA for this amazing donation. Thank you so much! See more
10.01.2022 Hi everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Easter In all this darn doom and gloom I want to share with you some absolutely wonderful news. The following pictures have been taken with the cameras that people so generously donated towards. We were meant to get another thermal camera, but Im sorry it was decided that these cameras are a better option.... I am so excited that wildlife is finally returning. It unfortunately looks like the Gliders and possums have perished but wonderful to see these are animals. See more
09.01.2022 It is with a broken that unfortunately we had to let him grow his Angel Wings. I spoke to my amazing mentor Phil Pain at Eagles Heritage in Margaret River hoping he was going to say he could take him for Breeding Program. But once I sent the photo of the x-ray to him he along with my Vet Emma decided the wing was simply too damaged to fix . Emma thank you for coming in on your Day off to try and save him. Phil, again thank you for your expertise. I really wanted to try, but realistically it wasnt going to mend.
09.01.2022 3 1/2 years ago this beautiful little Male Grey Falcon came into our lives. Wadjarmi was with us for 3 weeks before he went to his new home to participate in a breeding program. Biggest thanks to Chris Tate for allowing me to share this photo of him. He is certainly a very handsome little man. Fingers crossed that his girl thinks he is handsome as well. ... The Grey Falcons are classified as RARE . For him to be able to breed and have chicks will ensure the future generation of these very precious birds.

06.01.2022 1 very tired and sore Osprey. Oh and my awesome Wildlife Whisperer helping out getting the bird warm in front of the fire. All tucked up and now asleep. I will drop him into the Vets in the morning...fingers crossed everyone.
05.01.2022 Yesterday I had 2 beautiful ladies donate this amazing package to me. A massive thanks to Alex and Sara . I will now be right for Joey milk I think for a while.
05.01.2022 And I thought today couldnt get any worse.... Phil has been my mentor for the past 27 years. He is the amazing man that guided me through my love and passion for these incredible birds. To read this just saddens me to the bone. There has to be something we can all do to save EAGLES HERITAGE! Without this unbelievable Park and Breeding Centre, our birds will be in serious trouble.

05.01.2022 Hi everyone . This video clip is from our wonderful carer Claire in Kalbarri. I'm pretty sure this sums up the way us wildlife carers feel from time to time
05.01.2022 Yesterday my awesome volunteers had to deal with a very distressing situation. This beautiful OSPREY had hit a fence and received 2 broken legs. I am so so proud of both of them with handling a very sad situation. We then had to go home and catch 2 Brown Falcons which were then released into a flight aviary, after coming up from Perth for flight exercise. Hayley and Hamish, thank you both for being so strong and handling a terrible situation.
05.01.2022 And it gets better. Meet Phoenix The Lesser Sooty Owl. How amazing and i mean amazing is he

04.01.2022 Hi all . I know I've said it before but when it comes to injured wildlife you seriously try everything. Hayley ,Hamish my awesome volunteers and myself all put our thinking caps on today and the end result is pretty good i think. 4 week old Nankeen Kestrel with rickettes. Rickettes is a condition where there bones haven't absorbed enough calcium so as they grow there bones continually break. ... By putting them on the correct food ei mice and also insectivore with meat and the condition can be corrected. This little bird has a bit of a challenge in frount of her but im quite positive she will be ok See more
03.01.2022 Soooooo excited . This Morning I'm going to Kalbarri to help Mike (WA Bird of Prey Centre) do a display. Come and say hi if you’re in the area
03.01.2022 Hi All anyone coming from Kalbarri to Geraldton today please . Have an injured Brown Falcon needing to come hereHi All anyone coming from Kalbarri to Geraldton today please . Have an injured Brown Falcon needing to come here
02.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Far out, what a hectic start to the New Year! Here are some of the patients that have come through this year.... #1. Juv Brown Falcon has come from Sam and his team at KARARRA MINE near Morawa. We have called him Sam. He has come in with a break just above the elbow. He flies beautifully in the 20 meter aviary, but cannot get height. So this little fellow will call Just Raptors home for the time being. ##2. Adult Black Shouldered Kite has come in from Barrow Island, which is off the coast of Dampier. He has been completely burnt singed by a ground flare. A ground flare is a collection of poles that release gas from the ground. He will have to completely mount out every single feather and hope the new ones grow back ok. ###3. Barn Owl has come from Horrocks Beach/Kalbarri Road with a fracture to his pelvis. He is in a very bad way here in the picture as he hadnt passed any form of droppings in 3 days. I was starting to get extremely worried even with all the rehydration I was offering him. Thankfully he eventually cleared the blockage and went on to be released ####4. This gorgeous Adult Female Black Shouldered Kite has come from Fitzgerald Street. She was blown head first into a fence on Gregory Street. Harmony rung me and when I picked her up she had a very nasty concussion and head trauma. It took her a good 3 weeks before I was able to place her in an aviary. She decided that she was well enough to go and was released back at Fitzgerald Street. #####5. A juvenile Brown Goshawk that was absolutely skeleton, was unfortunately too weak to survive the night ######6. Our last one is baby Valentine who is a Red Joey. My greatest appreciation to Rod and Katherine who stopped yesterday morning as they saw movement in the pouch of the already dead mummy. I picked Valentine up and examined her, only to find she had 2 fractures on her left leg. 1 of the fractures was just all splinters and therefore would not of mended. My biggest thanks to the awesome team at Sanford Vets who where there for her when she grew her Angel wings. Valentines mummy must of needed her more . And apart from that its business as usual here @ Just Raptors.
02.01.2022 This gorgeous little Adult Male Kestrel got himself into a little bother by getting himself covered in oil. Thank you morning fresh dishwashing detergent and 1 husband and you can see the results yourself. It is always a good idea to put wire or a cover on any oil containers. Its not just these birds but also little geckos and other wildlife which can become caught in it. This little man just has to rest his leg as he has some bruising on it .... Then release time for him.. See more
01.01.2022 Latest addition is a Adult Male Kestrel who has "literally " got himself in a " sticky" situation and i mean sticky. After 1 thorough wash the sticky substance has not moved at all. Tomorrow I'll give it another crack. Any raptor carers got any ideas how to remove it as the normal Morning Fresh that im using is not working
01.01.2022 Yippee look at what has arrived the last of all our gear to build 2 new avairies which will be 8 mtr x 4mtr x 3 mtrs. Many Thanks to Society for The preservation of Raptors for the awesome funding . I am a very proud member of this group who has an amazing team of carers who specializes in Raptors.... But to get these much needed avairies up and running I need a little help please. Like all of us this darn Caronavirus has turned a lot of people lives upside down and that includes mine. We are after a trench digger and post hole digger ( mechanical) to dig the holes for the post and also the trenches to make the avairys completely fox and ferral cat proof. We did get a quote the other day but unfortunately because Im the only one working ATM it is well out of our budget. I am happy to pay at a price. I have included a picture of the existing aviary to give you an idea of what they look like. I am also wanting to put on a busy bee for anyone that would like to help put up the 2 avairys but due to the social distancing I dont think its acceptable. Thanks again so much for anyone that can help
01.01.2022 There are so so many things I find rewarding as a Wildlife carer . Yesterday I did some remote nursing to Jane and her incredible friends . This Osprey has a compound fracture of the Radius and Ulna i was able to go through step by step on how to secure the wing and stabilise it . What a truly amazing job they all have done. Today the Osprey will arrive from the Abrolhis Islands and go into surgery tomorrow. ... Fingers crossed everyone . See more
