23.01.2022 Introducing Danny - a charming Irish musician who finds himself in Murrurundi, played by @damienleith Here are some fun facts about Damien; 1. What do you do when you are not acting/performing? I spend most of my time with my family; lots of fun to be had with three kids! I’m up early doing breakfast radio at @981powerfm in the Upper Hunter and do gigs on the weekends all over Australia; I like to keep busy! 2. You wrote ‘Just Ruby’ with your wife, how did that come about? ...I wanted to write another novel and @Giovanna_mercuri who is the Director said to write a movie and her production company will produce it. When I realised she wasn’t joking, and told me the dates she was free to film, we got serious and started writing. It was a fun process with my wife, @stapletoneileen - we wrote and laughed and loved doing it together. It also helped living in the area and seeing first hand how devastating and tough this drought is. 20.01.2022 MEET PAUL HUGHES: Playing the part of LIAM Paul works full time as an actor and model. His acting experience spans Feature Films, TV Shows, Short Films, Web Series' and dozens of TV Commercials. Paul is signed with premium Sydney acting agent, Random Management. 1. What you do when you are not acting? I love to read and my kryptonite is my beloved Liverpool FC, I never miss a game regardless of the time of day or night! Fitness is also an important part of my life and I love... training at the gym or outdoors. 2. How do you feel about being part of Just Ruby? I'm super excited to work on this project with a talented cast and crew. I think the script is very fun and relatable to people in Australia and beyond and my character Liam is going to be so fun to portray! 3. Tell something fun about yourself? I love walking! I will walk literally anywhere (within reason) and often choose to walk somewhere instead of getting public transport or catching an uber. Another very random fact is I once got a matching tattoo with a girl on a first date! We know you are going to love this charmer ; )

09.01.2022 MEET Wikus Holtzhausen - known as Junior, playing 'BEN' in Just Ruby. Tell us a bit about yourself, what do you love to do? When I am not competing on my horses, I love to just relax with my partner on our picturesque farm nestled amongst the vineyards in the Hunter Valley NSW. Our farm has such a diverse array of animals which are an integral part of my life and who I am as a person. ... How you feel about being part of 'Just Ruby'? After reading the script and having admired Damien’s music career for many years I was so excited to have landed the part of Ben. I just cannot wait to start shooting in Murrurundi, the electric Artisan Village of the upper Hunter we love going there and spending the weekend in town visiting the cafés, galleries and vintage shops. Any other fun facts about yourself? How many of you have wanted to run away and join the circus as a child? Well I did, and yes, I can Juggle. For over 2 years I lived the life of a Circus Ringmaster for Circus Royale. No two days were ever the same in the Big Top as and Animal Trainer, I worked with Horses, Camels, Cows and many different Birds and even a few Humans.

07.01.2022 MEET GLENN 'STOLZY': playing the part of Johnno 'Stolzy' has been in radio for the last 18 years so he is no stranger to the world of entertainment, however this will be 'Stolzy's' first on-screen debut. Maybe a new career path? A lover of Australian films 'There is nothing quite like hearing our Aussie accents on the big screen'. Stolzy has a young family and loves the fact that this movie is happening against the backdrop of the upper Hunter Valley. A beautiful area experiencing some very harsh times.

04.01.2022 MEET NIC WESTWOOD: plays Mags, the Bar manageress Nic Westwood trained at the Atlantic Acting School in New York. NYC theatre credits include Mercury Fur, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, and The Caucasian Chalk Circle. Australian short films include Same Space, A Rabbit in a Hole, and Outside the Book. She recently starred in Infidelity and Enlightenment as part of the ’Theatre Travels No:Intermission’ Festival and can currently be seen in the September TVC. 1. What do you ...do when you're not acting? I work as a receptionist. 2. How does it feel to be part of 'Just Ruby' the movie? I’m so stoked to be a part of Just Ruby, getting to work with a fantastic team on an exciting and engaging script. Getting to film in the incredible Australian countryside is also a huge bonus! 3. 02.01.2022 MEET BONNIE FERGUSON: playing BETTY Bonnie Ferguson is a Sydney based actor and musician, who has been working professionally since childhood. In the past 2 years, she has added over a dozen film and T.V. credits to her name. These include lead roles in the comedy series ‘Made For This’ and the short films ‘Coping Mechanism’, ‘Hopscotch’, ‘Muse’, ‘Broken Minds’, ‘Dirt’, ‘The Neon North’ and ‘Homestead’. She can also be seen in upcoming feature ‘Moonrock for Monday’, ‘Book We...ek’ (2018) and the Alex Proyas short ‘Phobos’ (super impressive ) Here's what Bonnie said about playing Betty in 'Just Ruby' I’m very excited to be taking on one of the leads in ‘Just Ruby’. My character Betty is strong and independent, yet also falling apart at the seams - dealing with some strong issues around alcoholism and loss. I grew up watching Damien Leith, our writer and lead Danny, on Australian Idol. He inspired me to sing Irish lullabies when I used to busk, so that’s a fun little link to the project for me. I’m super thrilled to be on board and I can’t wait to begin filming in Rural NSW

'I have done TVC's and been studying the Meisner technique at drama school for over a year- this is my first role though!' 1. What do you do when you're not performing? When I'm not performing I'm at the beach, travelling, with my dog hiking or taking my own space with Netflix or a book 2. How does it feel to be part of ;Just Ruby'? I am so excited to be apart of this... production! The cast are lovely and I adore the script. I feel like I got really lucky having this as my first acting experience.
