20.01.2022 Q&A with John Van Beveren What is your top priority for the Bellarine Ward? To advocate for the rate payers and residents of the Bellarine to ensure we receive our fair share of the rate collected to ensure that we receive the infrastructure and services that we deserve. For too long the Geelong centric views of Council has resulted in neglect for our region. Our communities on the Bellarine deserve better!... What is the biggest issue facing the Bellarine Ward? In the immediate term there are many issues that face the Bellarine Ward with the Ward having been denied its fair share of funding for services and infrastructure. Our roads, footpaths and parking need to be repaired, maintained and upgraded. In the medium to longer term the big issue is to preserve the aesthetic value of the Bellarine considering the anticipated growth for the region. These issues require better strategies, planning and a commitment to return the fair share of rate collect back to the Bellarine.
