25.01.2022 If I had to start my business from scratch today and I only had an hour and $500 heres what Id do. I would make sure that I have updated, professional photos that will show my clients how I work, what I do, and whats important to me. Photos that I can use multiple times and for different uses. 1. 24.01.2022 A few months ago I had a zoom chat with fellow women in business. It was meant to be a social catchup talking about books were reading while in lock down, how we keep ourselves busy and how we are coping. Suddenly it appeared I was the only one of my peers not coping. Each person couldnt wait to raise their hand for their turn to tell all the others how well they have pivoted, coped, been thankful and making money. All the things I was not doing. I thought I was coping u...ntil this. Needless to say, I was very reluctant to put my hand up. I couldnt fake being OK or in control and I felt truly intimidated by all these people coping...no flourishing. Until someone asked me point blank How are you? I think it was the directness of the question (no-one has asked me that recently) but I burst out in tears. So embarrassing! I am a together mother, business owner, wife, friend and I normally ask these questions of others. The response was very loving, gentle and they gave me some practical ideas to move forward, but I couldnt help feeling and thinking that I was the only one who might be feeling like a victim and I hate being seen as a victim. Call it my ego, pride or vanity. Not sure. As I finished the meeting I couldnt help feeling embarrassed and thinking, I am the only one who cant keep it together or am I the only one who cant fake it? It also showed me how fragile my ego was. I started looking around me, at my business, at my family and realised that things actually were going well. I HAVE adjusted to the situation and that I am actually coping rather well. I just had a moment where my perspective was from the wrong direction. And by asking how are you? released my safety valve and the pressure just got released. Im not sure if those other women are really doing so well or are really not affected by the current situation we are all facing. I dont know if I was jealous of them being so in control or if they were scared of losing face in front of their peers. Thats not for me to decide. I just need to keep looking at my life from the perspective of gratefulness.

23.01.2022 Why did I create my Wedding Stories? When I got married, my brother (secretly) took photos of all the moments before the actual wedding day. He took photos of when I was choosing THE dress, debating the seating plan, baking my own wedding cake, laughing with my mum over who we decided not to invite, Andrew (my now hubby) rolling his eyes when I said I dont mind the size of my diamond. Every year, on our anniversary, we never take out the official wedding album. We ALWAYS loo...k at the one that my brother made. 15.01.2022 Everything I do is about stories and each and every story I photograph is uniquely...unique. Yes, a wedding is a wedding, is a wedding. BUT... each time I meet a couple and hear their story I'm reminded of how special it is when you finally meet THAT person. ... Your soul just get's a bit bigger when they say I LOVE YOU or feel a gentle touch. But as most of us know, life with the same person for years can get monotonous, boring and if you don't go through strong doubts you are, well, married to yourself! I truly find that looking back at any good memory of when life was exciting and all possibilities were possible, helps to remind me of why I chose this particular human. Most often, it's not the stiff wedding photo you look for inspiration, but the unguarded photos where you can see the true soul of the person you chose. That's why I pride myself in capturing those unguarded moments, where it's just the two of you present even if you are among a hundred people. Love is freaking awesome!

06.01.2022 A headshot is not JUST a headshot. A subtle difference in head-tilt, where your hands are and even teeth vs non-teeth, tells a completely different story. When a client comes to me and says that they just want a LinkedIn headshot and why am I charging what I charge. Its not always easy to explain. After all, Im only pressing a button. HA Ha, just jokes!... After knowing the client, well, only a few minutes, I have to understand what message they want to give and what will be the best way to do it, yes, even if its JUST a LinkedIn headshot. Take these photos for example. My husband asked me to update his profile pic. But because I know him, I really struggled to decide how to pose him so that he didnt look like Dad, hubby working in the garden or the goofball that makes me laugh. He had to look like a person that I dont often get to see. The professional Project Manager that makes all the "serious worky" decisions. Each time a took a shot I thought, you dont really look like this. Because I couldnt include the shots where he was really laughing and that was how I really knew him. So, I had to treat him like someone I just met and listened to how he wants to come across. As you can see, we narrowed it down to: Im can do this job no problem Im a professional, you can trust me Im a approachable professional who is comfortable being myself So now he can choose...

04.01.2022 I started this business because I believe deep in my heart that people crave the truth. We are done with glossy window dressing. We want to know what we buy, where it comes from, and how its made. It is a glorious time to be a business owner, we dont need to compete (on traditional terms) anymore, we just need to be true to our values and find the people who share those values. They are out there! And they will love you, for who you are!

04.01.2022 I've never been a morning person and felt so "lazy" for not waking up at 5AM as my husband and some of my friends find so easy and AMAZING! Obviously there was something wrong with me, so I went to a very reliable source and did a "scientific" online questionnaire that told me that indeed I was NOT a natural morning person, but a MID-Morning person. Thank goodness for science! I felt so much better about being "lazy", but still really wanted to change my morning routine.... I wanted to wakeup with more energy and more enthusiasm for my day ahead. So this is what I do. I wake up, to NO alarm, I have my cup of coffee in bed thinking about how awesome my life if RIGHT NOW, how grateful I am for a strong body, strong mind and a healthy family and what I would like to achieve that day (even if it's just to get the kids to school). I then get up, do my workout (YouTube is truly a wonder), jump in the pool to have a good float, shower and get ready to start my day and concur the world! Well, that's me and I've been doing it for a few weeks now and really loving it. I'd love to hear if you have made any changes to get yourself going in the morning?

But heres what I do when it ALL gets too much 1. I meditate (or just sit still for a while)... 2. I go for a walk to just be in nature 3. 03.01.2022 When I reached out to the Melbourne crowed, I was a bit nervous. I though who would send their product to Brisbane to be photographed. The idea was to help people with a small product based business to get photos of their products being used by people. Since, they cannot get to people... Araz from Cared Australia took up the offer and we were both a bit apprehensive. Would I understand her brand, her colours, her vibe.... Well, she loved the final product...at least thats what she told me ;) As for me, I LOVED doing it!! So moral of the story, even if you think its a mad idea, go for it! See more

02.01.2022 The wedding day always went so fast, I would lay in bed after a shoot and think, "well, that was a blur". I suspect that the bride and groom also feel like this. Too many moments to have all of them sink in. But I know that Ive not missed a moment and that makes me fall asleep, knowing that the couple can rest and not worry about not remembering ALL of their day.
