19.01.2022 Plan/review meetings. The purpose of these meetings is for a planner to ask questions and get an overall idea of the supports you may be allocated. Take as much information as you possibly can, reports from doctors, specialists, speech, OT, physio etc. if your child has support plan through the school (NEP/OCOP) take that as well. You can also upload documents to your NDIS portal or take it in to an NDIS office and they can upload it for you. Make sure you keep a copy with... the date on. Also make notes before the meeting, put any questions down so you can refer to them. These meetings can be upsetting but the questions are for the planner to help determine what support you can access. So be honest. See more

18.01.2022 Goooooood evening everyone. Hope you’re all going on. So I have been asked a couple of questions around Kindy options. Now, like schools, Kindy/preschool are zoned. You can go onto a waiting list if your local one is at capacity. They operate the same hours as school, during term time like school and in some cases are based on school grounds. Currently the hours you can access are 15 hours per week. This can be spread over different sessions depending on the days the servic...e is open and the availability of spaces. So as an example both of my children attended 2 full days. If your child attends a childcare only once they reach Kindy age the childcare will receive the funding. Kindy fees are around $160 upwards per term. This is not subject to CCS subsidy. For working parents there are some Kindy/Preschool that can access an OSHC, this may or may not be on site. OSHC fees are subject to CCS subsidy and some OSHC services offer vacation care, some do not. ( I happen to know a director who can help you out with this ) I would recommend looking around a couple of services, each has their own strengths. Both of my children attended a department Kindy and accessed childcare so my own personal experience was both. 13.01.2022 Welcome to JW support services. I am a working mum who, like many is juggling work and home life. Last year my youngest child was Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Although we are very fortunate to have NDIS funding, finding the time to attend regular appointments around work was difficult. Earlier this year (2018) I was fortunate to find a job that enabled me to have freedom in the day for these appointments. Currently I provide support for a couple of families whos...e children have ongoing appointments. The reason I did this is so that parents/carers can save their leave for taking time off to have fun, spend time with other siblings etc. If you are on a self managed or plan managed plan you can claim funding for my services.
