24.01.2022 Bulbs - May is a wonderful month to plant your spring bulbs,the soil temperature has dropped allowing them to develop roots Roses - bare rooted roses available now - bush, standard, & climbers, ideal time to soak in a bucket of water with seasol before planting Lawns -reduce the mowing height slightly on you warm season lawns, be mindful of lawn beatle it still may be active... Mulch - mulching can suspress you winter weeds germinating, some acting as a soil conditioner Garden beds -introduce organic matter,compost, manure as much as possible, for sandy soil add lots of manure to retain the moisture,pea straw is execellent fo nitrogen growth whilst it breaks down the bacteria it robs the nitrogen so this process can last for 6 weeks keep this in mind when preparing your vegetable garden beds
