25.01.2022 Just a reminder for anyone planning on coming to Walk on the Wild Side this Sunday. We welcome your furry friends to come down and join in the fun. We ask that ...you please consider the following before bringing your dog to the event: Does my dog interact well with others? Does my dog do well in large crowds? Does my dog do well with other animals, including snakes, kangaroo etc.? Is my dog up-to-date with vaccines? Please ensure your dog is on a lead at all times as event staff will be monitoring throughout the event and will ask people to move on if required. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

22.01.2022 TOBY Toby's owners needed some guidance with: Stopping jumping up Stopping Toby's from running through the back door into the house... Stopping him from pulling on lead & reacting to other dogs Unfortunately past trainers advised Toby's owners to alpha roll & pin Toby down went he did the wrong things This has cause Toby's to shut down & be afraid of even trying to offer the right behaviours. Our goal is to guide Toby in the right direction & build his confidence to try again. Such a great little man

20.01.2022 MARLEY. Board & Train. Marley's board & train skills included: Desensitisation to sirens Offlead reliability ... Great sit & down stays Distance drops He also attended several consults to help other dogs & expanded his skills. Lots of fun having Marley along to Tex's assistance dog training session.

18.01.2022 GRACIE. Private consultation. I had my assist Kira join me to help out with Gracie's consultation. We gave her owner the skills to make interactions between Gracie & the grandchildren kids enjoyable. We worked on adding a marker word 'yes' to their toolbox which allowed Gracie's owners to clearly pinpoint & reward all Gracie's good choices. ... We also touched base on stays & the all important recalls.

18.01.2022 CHILLI Chilli is a very clever & fun girl. She has been showing a few undesired behaviours like jumping, pulling on lead, reacting to other dogs & overall not listening to her owners. With some structured play & clear & consistent boundaries Chilli will be back on track in no time.

17.01.2022 CHIPPY. Behavioural consult. Today we ended Chippy's habit of pulling on the lead. He walked really well with a nice simple flat collar & lead. Still a bit more proofing to do under higher distractions but his owner now has the tools to achieve that.

15.01.2022 BUDDY Buddy is a certified assistance dog. Unfortunately he has started to get over excited & frustrated when he sees other dogs. Unfortunately this behaviour is not acceptable when he has a job to do. By building more value on his owners, rewarding the right behaviours & consistent boundaries Buddy will have 100% of his focus back on his work.

13.01.2022 Yesterday I was honoured to be part of BARRC's Dog-Ed event. We started with an agility display with lots of new dogs on the demo course. I then got to speech about 'It's ok! He's friendly' scenarios & what we as owners can do to help avoid or manage these situations. How many people have had out of control dogs run up to them? Too many of us unfortunately! I also got to talk about managing unwanted behaviours. ... Thank you so much for having us BARRC. I learnt alot from all the other wonderful speakers. 10.01.2022 PEBBLES. Private training. 30/10/20. Glen Iris. Pebbles owner called us in to help extend Pebbles' obedience skills. We focused on sit stays, downs & recalls. Pebbles picked things up really quickly. Looking forward to seeing how much she has improved at our next session.

06.01.2022 ARLO. Behavioural consult. Arlo is a young Australian shepherd. He has started getting over excited on lead & lunging toward other dogs. Along with the being over excited Arlo is also experiencing normal fear periods. He finds new or different appearing people confronting.... By using counting conditioning techniques & correcting the lunging he showed great progress. Walks will be much more pleasant now.

06.01.2022 ZAK. Behavioural consult. Zak is a very confident boy. He shows signs of dog aggression & will even run up the chase other dogs if given the chance. Zak is a great example of a dog whos knows the difference between a training situations & real life.... After meeting on the oval Zak behaved almost perfectly! Zak & his owner displayed amazing obedience skills even a round several new dogs. Our next consultation will be from home & work around his everyday triggers.

03.01.2022 TEDDY. Behavioural consult. Teddy has become reactive to some dogs while on lead. We ran through some techniques to improve his lead skills & stop the reactivity.

03.01.2022 KODA. Remember Koda? We have been working with Koda for a while now & today we took his new calm skills to a more challenging environment... the vet! Koda showed great self control & positive signs associated with the people in the clinic. ... Way to go Koda!

01.01.2022 BIDDY, JIGGLETT & SAVI. Behavioural consult. 28/10/20. Roelands. Biddy & Jigglett have developed a habit of running out the gate & jumping the fence. We put inplace a better understanding of the boundaries & rewarded the good choices they made when people & dogs walk past.
