25.01.2022 How gorgeous is this? Dogs are the best Therapy!

25.01.2022 Bree & Rhaegar doing some figure 8 walking to help calm him down. Nice work..

24.01.2022 Rhaegar has some great foundation skills that Bree has built at home. He is now ready to practice his skills in different environments with added distractions. He did great today disengaging from Trilli and playing games with Bree.

24.01.2022 Who’s got a Puppy and struggling with puppy biting? Puppy biting is normal. Here’s a great article to give you some relief.

24.01.2022 There are so many preventable injuries in our dogs these days. It’s great that we are doing lots more active things with our dogs, but be aware of what we are putting their bodies through. They can’t tell us when they are a bit sore and need to rest. Build up their fitness gradually just like you would with your own exercise. A common example is throwing a ball for your dog. This activity requires the dog to run fast, stop & turn quickly and sometimes jump high. Lots of tw...isting and pressure on the joints and muscles. Make sure you warm your dog up before playing these high intense games. Avoid throwing balls high in the air and long distances. Joint and ligament surgeries are very expensive; not much change out of $10,000. There are some fun games and exercises on this Absolute Dogs Triple F DVD. You can purchase one from me for $35 plus postage. Free delivery in Latrobe Valley area. Message me if you would like one? See more

23.01.2022 Trilli after her pamper at Renee’ Grooming room at Jack’s K9 Place. Highly recommend Renee.

21.01.2022 We are coming to the end of our training program with little Miss Digby and are taking all her foundation skills out and about. So incorporating her familiar skills into her loose lead walking in new environments in the real world is her next step. She and Stacey are doing great

20.01.2022 Alice doing some lovely loose lead walking today with Floyd. Good job Alice.

19.01.2022 Who doesn’t love talking about poo !

18.01.2022 If you have friends or family in the Bairnsdale area that need training for their dog, I highly recommend Kaleidoscope. Awesome trainer.

18.01.2022 Some tips on keeping your dog cool in the heat. If you think that shaving your dog will keep them cool, please Take note of tip 22 and the link on shaving double coated dogs. Always seek professional advice from a qualified groomer on what is best for your dog’s coat.

18.01.2022 Some fun lessons yesterday with Nayri, Pippin and Digby. All Learning nice manners!

17.01.2022 Highly recommend this course. So much fun for you and your dog..

16.01.2022 Congratulations to Bree on completing her Perfect Pooch Program with Rhaegar. Rhaegar was a very reactive Border Collie around cars, birds, other dogs and most things that moved fast. He had difficulty controlling his impulse to chase and got over excited easily. After a few months of dedicated training Bree has now taught him to control himself and showed him how to remain calm around high distractions. He is a new dog and has a wonderful relationship with Bree and loves playing games with her. He has even joined classes with other dogs which he was struggling with last year. Well done Bree.

14.01.2022 Congratulations to Stacey Chapman & family for completing their Perfect Pooch Program with Digby . This family have done an awesome job with their pup’s training, starting with her from when she came home to now having an 8 month old pup that is well on the way to being a great family dog. Digby has great foundation skills that Stacey and her family can continue to build on as she grows. It’s been so rewarding for me to work with a family that are dedicated and all put in the work together with their pup. Well done guys

12.01.2022 Today we worked on Floyd staying on his bed while Alice left the room. Floyd usually follows Alice around the house but today he did great.

11.01.2022 Digby is a great little learner. She’s learning impulse control, Sit/Stay, & staying on her bed as part of her program. And it’s fantastic to have the kids in the family so keen and involved in her training too. They are all doing amazing

11.01.2022 Now we can get out and about more, why not explore Victoria with your dog and support regional areas. There’s so many things you can do and places to go and enjoy with your dog. Let us know in the comments what your favourite dog friendly place is.... I love Best Friends Holiday Retreat at Tarra Valley.

09.01.2022 Don’t buy these for your dogs.

08.01.2022 When you have bed training going well inside the house, you need to take it outside into new environments. Why? Because it promotes calmness, helps to teach your dog to ignore distractions and improves focus. Alice did a great job with Floyd in their driveway today..

08.01.2022 We had a follow up lesson with Oscar & Frankie yesterday. Frankie has grown heaps and is now loving her bed. Her training seems to be on track. Oscar is doing a great job with her, but we need to keep up the training every day just for a few minutes if we want to have a adult dog with great manners and obedience. Playing games makes our training fun to do.

08.01.2022 Sharnah has built a beautiful foundation to Naryi’s training and she now walks nicely on the lead. Great work Sharnah

06.01.2022 Alice & Floyd showing their beautiful loose lead walking today. Well done Alice Elizabeth Morrison More videos in the comments.

06.01.2022 Feeding your dog canned or dry, processed foods may be convenient for you, but is it good for your dog’s long term health and behaviour?

06.01.2022 Do you have a young entire male dog or puppy? Have you been advised that neutering him will stop unwanted behaviours? Are you confused about when and if to neuter your puppy? Watch this video for some insight into this topic.... Training your dog should always be your first option to manage behaviour struggles. If you want to join Absolute Dogs Sexier than A Squirrel program or the Training Academy, send me a message and I can get you started on some fun online training.

05.01.2022 Did you know it’s ok to not walk your dog? If your dog is not enjoying walks and 1/2 or more are stressful for either you or your dog - stop. You will only be ...growing the behaviour you don’t want to see. Reconsider the location, frequency etc and what you can change to make them more enjoyable. Remember practice makes perfect. So every time they practice a behaviour the better they get at it..... that is ALL behaviour - desired and undesired. Instead, perhaps stop your current walks all together. Exercise your dog at home. Practice the skills needed for walking in low distraction environments first. Get those new neural connections flowing and strong and then gradually increase the criteria. Once you have some skills, go to a quiet park, or choose the quieter times of day for street walks and build on from this.

05.01.2022 A great game to play to build a good foundation for your loose lead walking. Stacey and her family are doing a terrific job with Digby’s training and she is now walking nicely on the lead. If you spend the time at home building a solid foundation, your walks become easy when you venture out.

03.01.2022 Some facts about vaccinations and the common practice of over vaccinating that all dog owners should be aware of.

03.01.2022 Rhaegar practicing his boundaries inside and out in our lesson today. Bree & Brody are doing an amazing job with his training.

03.01.2022 We had a great lesson with Pippin the spaniel today. Pippin gets very silly when he sees other dogs on walks; he barks and pulls and kangaroo hops at the end of the lead. With some careful planning and practice of calm walking, Pippin managed to get quite close to Trilli without reacting. Well done Pippin looking forward to seeing his further progress in 2 weeks time.

03.01.2022 Would you like your dog to stay close when he’s off lead instead of running out of sight where you have to keep calling him back? This is a easy game for any dog, but especially if you have a puppy for teaching to stay close from day 1.

02.01.2022 From September to December, Nayri has grown a lot but also learnt a lot. Sharnah has been super dedicated to make sure Nayri got the best education right from the start and has put in the work so she is now well on the way to becoming a well trained dog. Nayri is still just a baby but has a solid foundation and Sharnah has all the skills she needs to continue with Nayri’s education. Congratulations on completing our Perfect Pooch Program!

02.01.2022 Play with your puppies. And then when they grow up keep playing with them. Keep them close if you want them to stay close.

01.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all my wonderful clients, friends and followers. It has been an unusual year with ups and downs but many new pups and dogs to train with people staying home more this year. Thankyou for all your support and for being dedicated and committed to train your dogs to be the best they can be. ... Keep playing games and never stop having fun with your dogs . Woof woof from Trilli...

01.01.2022 Trilli loves practicing her boundaries at the beach. Where do you practice with your dog ?
