24.01.2022 Tubby has had a trim and is looking fit and ready for summer. He has finished his rehab with us now that he is walking well. He will continue his home exercises and walks to keep his muscles strong in his operated leg. All the best Tubby! #rehabsuccess

24.01.2022 Time for another dose of smiles! Little Ruby is recovering from her hip surgery. She has already started putting her foot down more! She has lots of muscle to gain. But her brother is coming along for moral support

24.01.2022 Our feature dog for #nationaldogday is our recently discharged Giant Schauzer 'Luna' she did a terrific job learning to focus in our treadmill and worked hard to build up muscle following her elbow surgery. She now has the same size leg muscles on the left and right front legs and is as happy as Larry these days!

23.01.2022 Wow what a great show of athleticism and so amazing to see how tails work to counter balance in the air!

23.01.2022 It's #FAQfriday How will I know if my dog has arthritis? 80% of dogs over the age of 8 have arthritis so if your dog is in this age category you need to be ...actively watching out for the sings so you don't miss them - they can be very subtle! The signs of arthritis vary from dog to dog. Some of the common signs that people may notice are slowing down on walks, stiffness when getting up from resting, struggling with or reluctance to use stairs, becoming more grumpy and limping on one or more legs. Often people will describe their dog as getting old as many of these signs are simply put down to normal ageing and not considered to be a sign of arthritis and chronic pain. 21.01.2022 It's a wonderland!

21.01.2022 There are so many different conditions that can benefit from hydrotherapy, but only if your dog is treated by a qualified hydrotherapist. By choosing a member o...f the Canine Hydrotherapy Association to help your dog, you can be assured the therapist is qualified in hydrotherapy, first aid trained, insured, and keeping up to date with changes in the veterinary profession. To find your nearest CHA centre, visit http://www.canine-hydrotherapy.org/find-a-cha-centre/

19.01.2022 Loki is gaining confidence in our underwater treadmill. He's a young dog facing big challenges but he has a great attitude! His condition requires hands on training on his back legs. There are no guarantees with this rehab but we are helping him live his best life! #donate #rehab

19.01.2022 What an excellent example of a reputable breeder, specifically breeding to improve breathing by lengthening the muzzle/nasal passages. 17.01.2022 This is Betty. She is a little ray of sunshine in what feels like like some dark times for a lot of us. Betty is recovering from knee surgery. We wanted to share these heart warming pictures of her because she makes us smile!

17.01.2022 To keep up to date with community safety we are now asking all owners of dogs that are familiar with our facility to either wait outside or in their cars and let Lauren complete their therapy independently. Those owners not comfortable with this process please contact K9 Hydro on 0437 711 413

17.01.2022 Ruby loving her rehab!

15.01.2022 Mr Tubby. Don't let his name fool you he's trim but recovering from surgery that is working to stabilise his hip following a hip dislocation. We will update his progress with some videos over the next few weeks. What a beautiful man!!

14.01.2022 This beautiful girl came to give her brother some moral support in hydro. We use as many different rewards and reassurances we can to make our dogs feel confident and safe through their rehabilitation.

14.01.2022 Canine arthritis management is all about MULTIMODAL managemet of arthritis. Part of this may be the use of hydrotherapy. It's a great way of helping dogs with ...chronic conditions like arthritis build and maintain muscle strength and flexibility as well as aiding in cardiovascular fitness. The boyancy of water means support is provided to the dog and this allows more ability to mobilise and create normal movement patterns in the limbs. We feel it's under used in a lot of cases... we should be starting therapies like this early in a treatment program rather than once a lot of muscle wasting has already occurred. Speak with your vet to see if they think your dog would benefit form this kind of therapy. If they already have it, we'd love to see some photos of your dog in action.. even better if it has a #yourdogmoreyears!!

13.01.2022 These Aussie Shepards are super keen for hydrotherapy this week! Often dogs take 2-3 sessions to get comfortable but once they do there is no holding them back!!!

11.01.2022 Weight management is hard but it's important. This link has some good advice for those of us working on getting our best friends back in shape.

11.01.2022 Loki went really well with his second hydro session - this time he walked right up the ramp, inside and plonked himself down on the cushion like he knew exactly... where he was! He had a good session but he’s not as food driven in the morning now so it took a bit to get him eating the liver treats. With 2-3 sessions a week for 6 weeks we could really benefit from donations to help us cover these costs. What better time to donate than now as SavourLife are matching dollar for dollar effectively doubling your donation amount!! https://www.gofundme.com/f/loki-and-raffi-vet-bills

11.01.2022 'Hi Lauren I'm just chilling, I'm not carrying my leg at all any more. Thank you for all your help hydrotherapy was great!!' -Jess. Border Collie with a cruciate repair.

10.01.2022 I never tire of watching our dogs work under water. This little man is working on maintaining muscle mass with some arthritic joints.

10.01.2022 We see lots of dogs that are on long term medication. Keeping up with blood tests are such an important part of their care.

09.01.2022 Jazzy looooves her towel dry after her sessions in the underwater treadmill. She has developed lots more endurance and now skips along on her leash! It's lovely to work with senior dogs

08.01.2022 Thinking of all our rehab clients. Hoping that you are all able to enjoy some quality time with your animals large and small. They are important to help maintain healthy bodies and minds. Have a smile with this. <3

05.01.2022 My Riley is recovering from a cruciate surgery his progress is steady. 5 weeks in and he is weightbearing nicely. He still needs to be closely supervised as his type of surgery relies on bone growth which does take some time to become strong.

04.01.2022 Ruby is 3/4 of the way through her recovery after a knee cap stabilisation surgery. You can see she's putting her leg down consistently now! #k9hydro #rehab #strong

04.01.2022 K9 Hydrotherapy are excited to be welcoming back clients and keen to meet new clients now that we are comfortable operating in the current environment. Hand sanitiser will be freely available and ,it's use, encouraged on entry and exit of the facility. Please maintain distance as practically possible. Email or call with questions or booking requests. Thank you so much for your patience during our hibernation period.

03.01.2022 We want to do our part to ensure everyone is safe and healthy. We have suspended hydrotherapy services from 12am tonight. This will be in place for four weeks in line with the new state government COVID -19 management plan. Lauren is available via phone or email to discuss clients exercise programs and progressions with rehabilitation. Don't hesitate to ask! We wish everyone a safe month. We will update clients and vet clinics as soon as it's safe to open the doors again.

03.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all our lovely clients and their owners! Thank you for trusting us with the rehabilitation of your best friends. It has been a challenging year but we have seen some wonderful recoveries! Next year Lauren will be taking some leave but your canine friends will be in good hands with Steph and JJ. Watch our page for their profiles in the new year! We will be returning to consults after the 5th of January. Stay safe!
