23.01.2022 It's all about reducing food waste for this week's #TrashtalkTuesday With some simple steps, we can avoid adding food to landfill and save money in the process. Win/win! 1. Plan ahead by writing a list when you shop - you'll avoid buying things you don't need 2. Buy the imperfect fruit and veg, it might not look pretty but it tastes just as good 3. Look for food with less packaging, single-use snacks are an easy one to leave out ... 4. Store food in the right containers so it doesn't go off in the fridge or pantry 5. Compost! It's the best way to turn scraps into nutrient-rich fertiliser for your garden Thank you to everyone who helps to #KeepAustraliaBeautiful #litterfighter #tidyaussie #trashtalktuesday #tenlittlepieces #plasticfree #ecofriendly #take3forthesea #environment #recycle #sustainability #fightwaste

01.01.2022 Iconic chocolate brand KitKat is temporarily replacing the logo on its packaging with a recycling symbol. The campaign, Give the Planet a Break, aims to encourage and educate Aussies to recycle their soft plastics correctly. It comes after a study commissioned by KitKat found that while 80 per cent of Aussies wanted to recycle, nearly half the population don’t know how to recycle properly. Remember: Soft plastics don’t belong in your yellow household recycling bin. Instead..., store them in a reusable shopping bag and drop them off in a REDcycle collection bin the next time you visit the supermarket. https://www.news.com.au///ce78a685372d5a16d983ba9a4880a76e
