21.01.2022 The jacaranda trees at the school have looked stunning this week. They were planted as an Avenue of Honour for all who served from the local area during the Great War. The avenue initially extended down George Street and across what is now the racecourse, dog park, motorbike track and town oval. It also extended down Lipson Avenue. The trees that remain on Doswell Tce are the longest section of that avenue that remains. After World War One, more trees were planted along Doswell Tce, specifically in front of the schools stone buildings and what is now the bowls club as part of Arbour Day celebrations. This continued until the mid-1930s. Outside of the fence are the original trees, the inside trees were planted later.

09.01.2022 Students enjoy their brain food breaks when healthy foods are consumed as preparation for more learning. The play then eat trial this term is encouraging healthier snacks to be eaten after the recess play and also more ‘nude foods’ are evident as containers are more likely to return home!

09.01.2022 Many thanks to families who are minimising their time on school grounds by dropping their children at a school gate and also ensuring social distancing. It’s great to see siblings collecting family members and walking them out of school.
