25.01.2022 Do you have children and use a child car seat? Have you ever been shown how to safely install and maintain the safety of your child's car seat? If not here is a perfect opportunity to have Kidsafe check your car seats for free if you are in and around South Brisbane tomorrow. Kidsafe has appointments available at the Mater Hospital, give them a call, they will also advise where else they conduct these inspections for you to access. It is important that car seats are installed correctly and maintained for your peace of mind.

22.01.2022 Another interesting activity to add to the list that children can set up and make up their own game rules to fill in their day if needed during the holidays.

21.01.2022 Just chillin' and relaxin' in the outdoors! It might seem like not much is going on here... but there is a lot of learning occurring ... naturally. The outdoors holds a great wealth of opportunity for children to enjoy the fresh air, enjoying the calm for relaxation and wellbeing. Exposure to natural settings has and intrinsic effect on our emotional and cognitive functioning, which in turn promotes healthy social and emotional wellbeing.

15.01.2022 Just another beautiful day in Family Day Care :) After a few challenging moments and lots of angry expressions, this morning, my friend and I sat on the classroom steps and I asked him if he'd like to say some affirmations with me. He agreed because it meant he could look at my phone... As we recited them, he began to smile and at the end, he said to me "I really liked that". Then the bell rang and he hugged me and skipped into the classroom..... ... ...and just like that my blood pressure returned to normal

15.01.2022 Do you eat bread that is wrapped and has a plastic tag? Do you want to assist our planet and contribute to a worthy cause by recycling bread tags? 'Bread Tags for Wheelchairs' is a project that started back in South Africa in 2006. Then by late 2018 'Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs' gained momentum and was able to set up a national collection network which is growing every day. Check out their website to find out how you can assist with contributing to a worthy cause, adding this to your list of community and recycling activities for 2021.

14.01.2022 This looks like an easy to set up activity for children to assist with putting together and making rules for their game. Could come in handy for keeping children occupied with the upcoming holidays.

03.01.2022 A new take on a very old nursery rhyme... This is what is so special about working with young children. They see things differently and create their own take on story’s they hear. Love this version of ‘Jack and Jill’ and a Scottish accent just makes the story more interesting
