13.01.2022 Happy Hangeul Day! Today we celebrate the Korean alphabet, created by King Sejong in the 15th century. Koreans used to read and write using Chinese characters, which uneducated lower class Koreans found too difficult to understand. So King Sejong created the much simpler hangeul system to promote literacy for all Koreans. Each hangeul character represents a vowel or consonant. A syllable in Korean is a block that combines several characters. Koreans also use hangeul to write words in English. Try writing your name in hangeul!

03.01.2022 If you don't know about Adapted, it is a podcast that explores the experiences of Korean adoptees, from post-reunion stories to living in Korea as adults and on the topics of identity and belonging. Kaomi Goetz has created 3 seasons of the Adapted podcast and is working on her fourth season to include more international adoptees outside the US. We would like to support her goal to get these adoptee stories reach a Korean audience. Translation for one season is roughly $7,200... USD or $10,100 AUD per season. If you are able to help her reach her goal please see below link to her Kickstarter campaign. http://kck.st/35fRuWW

01.01.2022 Today marks the beginning Chuseok, Korea's annual harvest holiday. This is a time when Koreans spend time with their families - and when adoptees get together for some tasty Korean food! Unfortunately we can't celebrate how we usually would this year, but hopefully we can get together next year. Have a safe and happy Chuseok <3
