On Mount Parnassus in Greece there is an ancient cave where the Sibyl received her revelations before Apollo's temple was built at Delphi. Did her prophecies arise from dreams? 17.01.2022 Is this one of the earliest depictions of a dream? A cylinder seal from ancient Sumer, c 2350-2250 BCE, with images from Dumuzi's dream of impending danger . . . "A dream! My sister, listen to my dream: Rushes are torn out for me; rushes keep growing for me. A single growing reed shakes its head for me. A twin reed, one is removed from me. Tall trees in the forest are uprooted by themselves for me. Water is poured over my pure hearth. The bottom of my pure churn drops away. 13.01.2022 "A story is true if it's well told . . ." Elizabeth Cunningham. Dreams bring us truths every night, yet the dream stories may not seem "true" to our waking minds. The first step in working with dreams is to assume that the dream story is true, although this truth may be elusive, revealing itself only as we stay with the dream over time. Today I read that the form of the well-known Minoan Snake Goddess may have been dreamed up by the archaeologist who uncovered Knossos, based on fragments found at the site and on his imagination. Does that make the iconic image less true?

Life is not a circle but a spiral around a central place, and we are working our way up and working our way down.
