18.01.2022 ***PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS - MATT ROSSETTO*** We first met Matt on night one of the very first Kaizen Academy. He arrived as a 13-year old blank canvas ready to learn anything and everything. Whilst Matt was physically sound for a young athlete, he lacked a lot of game knowledge and awareness which in turn affected his confidence... After playing in a premiership division two side last year, 2017 saw a jump in division and intensity in training for Matt. We tested him throughout the winter in the older academy, just to begin getting him used to telling people what to do and where to go, even though his peers were older than him. We were thrilled when Matt gained a spot in the Western Suburbs Magpies Harold Matthews train on squad a year young. He is a testament that application and intent lead to results. From all reports he is doing really well at the Magpies under the guidance of a very good junior reps systems. Matty is a delight to work and we couldn't be prouder of him!

16.01.2022 ***PLAYER HIGHLIGHT - Lucas McCarthy*** This player highlight has a bit of a different theme to our normal posts of our players who are killing it in higher representative programs. Lucas McCarthy is one of new boys to join the Under 12's Summer Academy. As soon as we met him we knew he had a true love for footy. ... As we have gotten to know Lucas a little more we have truly seen how much this young man loves his footy as he travels to our Academy from the Central Coast! This is a new level of commitment and we are truly honoured that him and his parents have such faith in our program to bring him two hours to training twice a week! So thank you Lucas and the McCarthy family, we are really humbled. You are going to go far with your commitment, support network, work ethic and desire!

16.01.2022 **HUGE OPPORTUNITY** Our great friends at CrossFit Zelos are holding a one-day Olympic lifting workshop for young athletes. Research has shown that Olympic lifting is the cornerstone of power development and application. Unfortunately many athletes aren't shown properly how to execute these movements and they either get injured from trying or neglect to do them and lose any potential athletic gains. This workshop is being run by one of the best in the business Gary Stav for y...oung athletes to safely learn a range of movements in a controlled environment. Parents, this is a great tool needed for your child's devlopment and they get out of your hair for the day!

Tim is one of the best in the business and worked closely with our high performance athletes to correct their movement patterns and get them moving more efficiently. He did not possess all the athletic prowess his competition had, but between his ears he has the mental toughness stronger than anyone. Well worth the listen for any aspiring athlete.

04.01.2022 **SUCCESS STORIES - Jake Stig** The Team at Kaizen have had the pleasure of working with Jake for the past 18 months. He has been apart of every Academy and his growth as a footballer and young man has been phenomenal. Stig arrived to Kaizen as a handy footballer. He came from a good footballing pedigree and naturally very athletic - he just needed a little more belief in himself. ... Mistakes in rugby league are inevitable. Nobody is perfect. But at a junior level, we find it can take a long time to move on and get over it. Recovering from mistakes is something Jake did struggle with being a high-confidence player. Throughout the Summer Academy last year his fitness soared and you could see he changed his relationship towards the way he viewed training. Before every session he would be bouncing around excitedly because he knew he had an opportunity to become a little bit better than he was previously, and every session he did become just that little bit better. As Season 2017 progressed, Stiggs got his chance to play up in the Under 19's C grade squad for EMU PLAINS JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB and had a great season. Jake was rewarded for his ongoing efforts with selection in the Balmain Tigers SG Ball train on squad. We are really proud of young Jake and wish him all the best in his final selection.

01.01.2022 Who would believe that we are only a few weeks away from the start of the 2018 season! Before the season starts however, trials have to be played to figure out who is in which team. This can be a tough and nerve racking time for many young athletes so we thought we would provide a few tips on how to handle this period and meet the full potential of 2018.
