25.01.2022 Another interesting article with some really good points, Make sure you have emailed the CoK CEO and the councillors with your objection for any rates increase this year. Opportunity for feedback on CoK engage website closes 4pm Monday 17th June.
25.01.2022 A very interesting article here and a fair bit of synergy between Ratepayers in CoK and SoM.
23.01.2022 Quite an interesting situation in the city of Rockingham. What do you think- Should Mayor's be chosen by the council or should it be a public vote?
22.01.2022 WARRA invited to be included in the Local Government Act Review Reference Group. April 2019. It is gratifying to see that Minister Templeman responded to our re...quest for more community engagement on the Ministerial Reference group and has invited WARRA to be a part of that group. Hopefully this will become a first step in developing a better listening to the grass roots voice of the community. WARRA will continue to push for greater and fairer representation of ratepayers through this and other forums and invite ratepayers and residents of Western Australia to join our growing community. https://www.warra.asn.au/membership

It's especially encouraging to see what can be achieved when the left and right of government work together with the community and local government. 07.01.2022 Who here would like to see live streaming and/or video recording of City of Kalamunda Council meetings? It's something that we've discussed as a group a few times with mixed results.
06.01.2022 *****URGENT ACTION REQUIRED********** Urgent action required by all members/ratepayers in the City of Kalamunda! How can CoK justify the call for any rates increases in the current economic climate?... Average property values in CoK have dropped up to 10% in some cases Average rental value has dropped by 10-15% in most areas The Reserve bank is contemplating yet another interest rate cut due to record low economic growth The National CPI has lost 0.5% The City needs to Learn to live within its means and realise that Ratepayers are not a bottomless pit of revenue! Make sure you let the City of Kalamunda We are not happy with this and any increase to Rates via direct or differential increases is not acceptable. Please provide direct feedback to the City via their website, letters to the CEO and Councillors, share this to all your local friends & neighbors and encourage them to do the same. We can make a difference if we all scream loud enough and make sure they have no choice but to listen.
