03.01.2022 A Volunteer Delivery Service for all businesses in the City of Kalamunda With the partial lockdown in effect, more businesses have had to offer a delivery serv...ice. Whilst Uber Eats and Deliveroo have provided a paid service in some areas, their fees take a major slice out of local business's earnings, and It's not only restaurants that are offering or considering delivery. We are looking for drivers who would like to volunteer a number of hours a week to help out in the local community. This is not to reduce the amount of available work for paid courier drivers or take paid hours away from employees but to offer a free additional delivery resource at a time when more and more traditional businesses are also having to set up delivery services in order to survive. The Chamber will not be a party to the arrangements between the driver and the business - we are facilitating a pool of resources to put businesses in touch with volunteers. We are asking participants to ensure that the all aspects or pick up and delivery are contactless, drivers will not be involved in the financial side of the transaction and all COVID 19 safety protocols must be followed. Although it may be possible to arrange for the delivery of food, it is more likely that arrangements for non-perishable and non-refrigerated goods are easier to put in place. We are also asking local businesses to register their interest in participating in the scheme and we will put you in touch with potential volunteer drivers who may be able to fulfil your requirements. 01.01.2022 Kalamunda Night Market returns on 23 October 2020. A few additional control measures have been put in place to ensure we comply with our COVID -19 Safety plan and we need to work together to ensure we comply. The market will be a MINI version of the previous night market events with approx. half the amount of stalls at each event. As a result, we will host 2 mini market events each month on the 2nd and 4th Friday's of each month to capture the full extent of the previou...sly held monthly night market event. We have extended trade hours to 'space out the crowd' Please note: we OPEN AT 4PM. No tables will be placed out (until we enter phase 5) as we need to encourage people to takeaway food or find a location in the market zone where you can be socially distant from others to consume your food. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines and use stall line up markers on the ground. We encourage patrons to stay home if they are ill and patrons attending to maintain good hygiene (wash or sanitise your hands regularly and cough/sneeze into your arm pit). Masks are not mandatory, however are not discouraged to wear. We will have email sign up points if you like to be informed of future market news, which will also serve to inform you should there be any suspected exposure of COVID-19. Alternatively, we encourage you to download the COVID SAFE APP. THE MARKET WILL be hosted in Central Mall ONLY till further notice, every 2nd and 4th Friday of each month on a smaller scale.
