25.01.2022 Last night was a special night for Kalbarri VFRS. It was FF Diana Blaschke birthday which we celebrated with cake, Diana has been a huge part of the brigade. We then said farewell to FF Caitlin Odlin who served the brigade for a while, she will be surely missed and was a very important part of the community. Caitlin got awarded a recognition of service shield for her service. Aswell as the last job of reversing the light tanker. We wish her well in the future!
25.01.2022 To Kalbarri residents. The community meeting today at midday is mainly to answer queries from yesterday (Tuesday) meeting or those of you who missed the meeting. There will be a further update meeting tomorrow with a time to be advised. Thanks again for your help.
24.01.2022 Asbestos Stabilisation Program Talking Points - Kalbarri Yesterday, DFES commenced work to stabilise material containing asbestos in Kalbarri. There are person...nel from DWER, the DFES Scientific Officer and specialist asbestos contractors in Kalbarri supporting the stabilisation process. The Department of Health continues to provide expert advice. The approach being used has been proven in Yarloop and Wooraloo Bushfires. Bonding agent is being sprayed to stabilise material containing asbestos. This bonding agent is died yellow for visibility and it is non-toxic. A cautious approach is being taken, involving the application of water to roads by bulk water tankers to stabilise any material containing asbestos. Expect to see a number of additional vehicles around Kalbarri throughout the days and nights. There is a traffic management plan in place throughout Kalbarri. This will result in some restrictions of movement. This is unavoidable and we ask for the community’s understanding. 40Km speed limit has now been applied to Kalbarri as of today. See more
24.01.2022 Please take care on the roads in this wet and windy weather. Drive to the conditions. #nvfrs #northampton #rcr

22.01.2022 Something to cure boredom while in isolation? Why don’t you check up on your smoke alarms! Did you know you lose your sense of smell while you are asleep! You are 26% more likely to suffer a serious injury and 4 times more likely to die if you do not have working smoke alarms. ... A small fire can grow and engulf an entire room within 2-3 minutes so every second counts! 06.01.2022 Yesterday members from the Clontarf Foundation came to town and were looking for a small job to fill their time and inspiration for their future so we headed to the foreshore and showed them our appliances and what they can do and achieve to get the job done. Great bunch of crew!
06.01.2022 Perfect late afternoon weather for a wash and polish Come up neat for a couple of hard working appliances.
06.01.2022 This afternoons training involved crew members who have been on recent Structural Fire Training show the rest of the brigade vital skills in branch operation prior to entry into a burning building. Branch operation is important when fighting an internal fire as you need the right amount and the right time in the right application this takes effect especially in compartment fires at it cools the fire down allowing crews to advance to the fire and put it out It is an intense training in Perth and to be able to bring it back to the brigade is a great experience for all
