22.01.2022 MAJOR RAIN EVENT As we have all seen and heard by now there is a significant weather event unfolding with an undetermined timeframe. Many roads are cut around Kalbar and the surrounding areas, please stay informed if you are in a low lying area and please remember; if its flooded, FORGET IT! For the point of truth on all road closures and conditions, the Scenic Rim Disaster Dashboard has all the information you need. Sources like Kalbar Community Group and other pages are... also a good source for more local information but these sites are sometimes not monitored. http://disasterdashboard.scenicrim.qld.gov.au/ Picture - Washpool Gully on Boonah Fassifern Road at 9am this morning.

15.01.2022 As the sun sets, the wind strengthens and changes direction, there are crews on the ground trying to keep the Green Hills Fire within containment lines The smoke is now blowing over Kalbar and will blanket the town overnight. Please keep up to date if you are in the area via the Rural Fire website or via the QFES Facbook page.
14.01.2022 It could be a potentially hairy day today, please stay safe and listen to the warnings! As always we are ready for whatever is thrown at us. #QFES
