"It is such a candid shot of a time gone by, a group of people attending an event dressed in their "Sunday best". Everybody looks happy and relaxed yet restrained, and one can feel the anticipation building in the crowd leading up to the - what I can only assume is - a speech happening at a ...main event. One of the ladies in the front row reminds me of my late and dearly beloved Grandma and I feel deeply connected to this painting."
