19.01.2022 Rehearsals have commenced for Term 1 and we have some very exciting repertoire. This week we started work on a "The Seal Lullaby" by Ruth Boshkoff. The text in this composition comes from the poem of Rudyard Kipling (who you may know as the author of the Jungle Book!): Oh! Hush thee, my baby, the night is behind us, And black are the waters that sparkled so green. The moon, o’er the combers, looks downward to find us,... At rest in the hollows that rustle between. Where billow meets billow, then soft be thy pillow, Oh weary wee flipperling, curl at thy ease! The storm shall not wake thee, nor shark overtake thee, Asleep in the arms of the slow swinging seas!

17.01.2022 KALEIDOSCOPE KEYS! Sing. Play. Learn. Create This unique learning environment, which is catered to students from 6-8 years old, incorporates several approaches to learning music : singing, playing songs, solfa and rhythmic development through the use of percussion instruments.... The emphasis on the group is to learn to develop your ensemble skills and playing music in a group. Students will learn to read notated music and also to develop their musical skills and abilities through playing by ear. Run by Annette Houghton, who has been involved in all aspects of music education for over thirty years, this is the perfect opportunity to get your child involved in learning an instrument, learning to read music, as well as singing, playing and creating in a supportive and encouraging group environment.
