21.01.2022 Here in the handwritten index we find an entry for Rufio that is what we are looking for. What's that you say? It doesn't look like Italian? That's probably because it's in Latin. Fortunately Mr Google has some great translation tools that can help us. Type in 'Latin to English translation' and an easy to use box pops up Note the location at the right of the entry for Rufio - f 9. That means folio or page 9 with the location being entry no 38
20.01.2022 Having done our maths - we start our search by looking for the year 1801 at around image no 120. Keep in mind this is not an exact science so hunt backward and forward if need be to find the start of 1801 Earlier we talked about some indexes that were created by the record keeper and how they can serve as waypoints for us We had to hunt back a fair bit in this instance but at image no 79, we find that the parish record keeper had created a handwritten index for the years 1800-1801 Have a look through the index

09.01.2022 When you click on the Parish of Sant' Idra you are brought to a a link to Battesimi - click on that and you will come to a single image which shows the film number. At the top left of the page there are four control buttons - +, -, multiple squares and a set of brackets. Click on the multiple squares and you will find this page. Two things to note here and the red arrows highlight them for you. The first is that that you are looking at baptismal records that cover 91 years, and secondly, the second red arrow tells us that there are 2721 images to navigate through.

Just click on the button and FamilySearch will guide you in how to attach it to your ancestor. That's it for this year - be back in January with some more tips
