25.01.2022 After receiving 60-70ml across all farms (100ytd), very happy with that, deep ripping, spreading and spraying will be back into full swing getting ready for seeding time. Along with all the other jobs like pre seeding maintenance and fertiliser carting. Looking like a very good start

25.01.2022 Not everything runs smoothly as you'd like during harvest, but it wouldn't be a true harvest without some tyre changes and wet weather we've been very lucky to only receive a few ml here and there compared to others.assive thanks to Sam davies at tractus tyres getting us going quickly on friday

25.01.2022 So glad decided to reseed. Doing fantastic job

25.01.2022 Running some high rate gypsum trials then incorporation into unproductive salt scolds to see if we get a response. Between 2.5 and 10t/ha. We figure that it can't be any worse than not growing much crop at all already anyone else tried similar?

24.01.2022 This will become a game of where is he going to leave today I think.

24.01.2022 And just like that, lupins done and onto the barley for 2020

23.01.2022 Typical last day of seeding, a tyre, wheel bearing and a hydraulic hose. Thanks to tractus tyres/Sam Davies and afgri and McIntosh's for getting all the bits after hours

23.01.2022 An outcome of the Tactical Wheat Agronomy for Western Australia research project has challenged conventional thinking about when to apply nitrogen. A tactical a...pproach to N applications based on environmental conditions can provide opportunities that might otherwise be overlooked the research has found. 23.01.2022 Cutlass wheat finishing off nicely. Good to have a long season wheat up your sleeve for seasons like this. Will definetly be our highest yielded this year. Averaging 10-12 up and 4-6 across

22.01.2022 Well after only doing 90 hectares, on Sunday our 1870 Shat the studs on a main husband after finding out the hard way that even though part numbers haven't changed, the hub threads actually have which meant a new rim and bolts and everything. But thanks to some hard work and help by 2 afgri branches and some afgri people and a few hundred km drive, we are finally back up and running.

22.01.2022 Well it took a while but finally into it for 2021. Bonito canola on some deep ripped fallow

22.01.2022 Picked up new addition for the farm today to make shifting machines so much easier. First "brand new" thing on the farm for a long time

22.01.2022 Well it's been a long harvest and a very challenging year on and off the farm but we got there. That's a wrap for 2020 Huge thanks go to our whole crew and band of helpers. We can't do it without you. Everyone always goes above and beyond to get it done. Massive thanks goes to my cousin Matty and his family and uncle steve for bringing not only their header down for our last week and a bit of harvest but also their tractor when our little Deere decided it didn't want to finish. We owe you big time and would still have another week to go if wasn't for the help Once again thanks to everyone and to CBH for the massive work they always do and the dealers that back us up. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to everyone and see you in 2021 and we will do it all again

21.01.2022 Bit wet underneath

21.01.2022 Seeding is well and truly here with a bit of everything going on and finally sorting out few teething problems. Spreading/spraying still happening too as well as cranking up again with the burning soon

21.01.2022 Massive thankyou to the Afgri crew in wongan for letting us hire a 9420RX while our tractor is out of action due to a radiator being buggered and being down for a week possibly, much appreciated and allows us to keep seeding. All ready to go tomorrow. Cheers Brendan and Ben

20.01.2022 1L/ha of Howitzer definitely stitches up radish of all sizes. Done around 2 weeks ago

20.01.2022 Picking rocks and putting out some flexi-n with fungicide on our last few hundred hectares of wheat that hasn't had any post seeding nitrogen yet are just some of the jobs going on at the moment

20.01.2022 Nice cross hatching happening in the reseeded windblown areas. Some sadly did blow again

20.01.2022 Well seeding 2020 officially finished 11pm last night, with now just some reseeding windblow areas. Massive thankyou to my team this year as it has been my most mentally and emotionally challenging season I've ever been through. To Ian and Jeremy for keeping the machine going and getting the seed into the ground, to dad for the short time he was here for all the spraying as usual and to all the other support we get along the way from the dealers and mechanics through breakd...owns. Afgri for the hire tractors and boekies fur the demo. Special thanks goes to my fiance tinneil for all the support and being the glue that held us together. For taking time off work to help out in very challenging circumstances and being thrown in the deep end learning how to drive the sprayer and spreader and keeping on top of bookwork for us. Couldn't have done it without you. To everyone else too numerous to mention we always appreciate the help and support also from the community. Here's to a prosperous 2020 See more

20.01.2022 Ticking away on wheat nicely with the A-team at it again. Tinneil jumping in the chaser yet again and nailing it like everything she does. How do we tell Mike its time to hook the caravan on and take a long deserved holiday??

20.01.2022 Cleanup of the gear is finally drawing to a close and post emergence spraying on early long season wheat has started

19.01.2022 Still lots more going on lately, first load of CBHfert rocked up today, massive thanks to Dowerin Bulk Transport for the help with our fert as we are under the pump and can't do it ourselves. After another beautiful and very surprising 20-50ml across the farm over the weekend spraying has been put on hold and the Kelly chain has come out for first time in over 2 years to level out a deep ripped paddock and get a nice even germination going and cut up a few sprayed out melon vines.

19.01.2022 Trying to get some biology happening on some fallow country and seeing what weed kill we get mulching in all the radish and selfsown cereals without using Roundup. Good chance to test the quaddy out too pretty nice to operate

18.01.2022 Nice evening to preload for an early start to take a load of grain to the dairy and hi-cal on the return

18.01.2022 Enjoying the 9570rx while we had it. Impressive on the ends when we don't skip row.

18.01.2022 National Ag Day!! A day where hopefully everyone recognises a pivotal part of their daily life that we provide and how we go about it. Share a photo in the comments of what you are up to today. Farming. If it's not in your blood, you don't know what you are missing. Have a great day everyone.

16.01.2022 Well after a dryish July, things are well and truly back on track after already receiving 60mls on all our farms for August already which is a bit of a record for us. If it keeps up and we have a soft finish and no frost we will easily be looking at yields similar if not better than 2018, which is very rare for us to have two good years so close together but will be very thankful if it happens as it's very needed.

16.01.2022 Massive thanks to WCS wongan hills and DE engineers for the concrete pad and supply of another 4 2530 bushell silos to store triticale for a private contract.

16.01.2022 Cranking through the post em spraying. Zen wheat seeded on the 28th May looking nice

15.01.2022 Demo rig yeaterday

14.01.2022 Well after 14 years we say goodbye to our old girl. She's done us proud. And we say hello to our new (secondhand) 550 quadtrac. Thanks to Jarrod from Billabong transport and Smith & Broughton in midland

14.01.2022 Into the wheat with the demo tractor. Not bad for 420hp and 18" tracks

13.01.2022 Buff barley looking the part

12.01.2022 Canola done and into the lupins. Some ripper sunsets lately

12.01.2022 Just another video

12.01.2022 Something we aren't used to, but we're learning that if it looks wet, it probably is not like our usual drier years. Well it took 3 tractors to get the firebreak ute out of a bog

11.01.2022 Some photos of Gessner deep ripper courtesy of McIntosh & sons wongan hills. Very impressive. Can't wait for yield response data next year. Got it down to 800mm in spots

09.01.2022 I swear you are the reason I lose all my tools Shaun.!!!

08.01.2022 And we're away for 2020. All the best everyone

08.01.2022 Well the ol girl is back in the hot seat now as the radiator finally turned up. Massive thanks to Browns radiators in Maddington for the fantastic job and to Brendan Barrett and the boys at wongan hills Afgri for all the help in getting it back up running and the hire of the RX's to get us out of trouble. Although we were sad to see it go yesterday. Here's hoping it's a smooth sailing to the end. Under 2000 hectares wheat to go

07.01.2022 Fair bit of crop starting to make an appearance, this is just a quick picture of some spratacus barley

07.01.2022 Well officially underway for 2020. Been a very long and painfull process with everything being thrown at us but we got there thankyou to all involved and all that helped get us here.

07.01.2022 After way too much wind on Sunday, but then 20ml rain Sunday night Monday, we are finally back into it for the last few days in perfect conditions then some reseeding

07.01.2022 Just a bit of what's been going on at home lately. Progressing well through the wheat, over halfway through it. Many thanks to my cousin for bringing his header down to help out for the last couple farms to get it off quicker. Very happy with yields so far with wheat tripling last year's yield (800kg average isn't hard to beat). Everything has been running fairly smoothly but looking forward to the end. Everyone has jumped in to help this year which has been awesome. Love a family run operation

07.01.2022 With the triticale finally out the way, we set our sights on the last bit of barley at our eastern farm. Before getting onto our wheat and making our run home. Beautiful day to be a farmer.

06.01.2022 Testing out the new rig ripping tree lines roots. Had success with this in the past but the old little 8530 used to struggle a bit

03.01.2022 Massive thankyou to boekemans for letting us demo this impressive rig. It's a hard pick between the RX and quadtrac for performance and comfort, but the dbs as always impressive.

02.01.2022 Bit of a croppy yesterday checking early sown wheat. Looking awesome

02.01.2022 Post emergence spraying on canola in full swing. Very patchy due to patchy moisture just after seeding but it's all playing catch-up now
