24.01.2022 Pig Push update with Phil Shortin bought to you by Kalplant 3D & GrainCorp. Getting behind the Country Education Foundation of Australia. Phil is very happy with the design and the build!

23.01.2022 Conversion from 2D layout to 3D parts/assemblies. Very experienced engineer supplied these but he's pushed for time so i have to determine what has changed since previous revision. This one is really doing my head in.

23.01.2022 New website (platform) now up and running https://www.kalplant3d.com.au Many thanks to Deb Carr https://www.facebook.com/sydneychicblogger/

22.01.2022 Nice mix of new and old technology. KalPlant Engineering's 2015 Stratasys FDM 3D printer and 1966 Nuttall lathe. Both serve their purpose well.

22.01.2022 Recent order for 100 x ABS thermoplastic hydraulic control valve knobs using Additive Manufacturing - 3D printing. The female hex spline made these too costly to manufacture using traditional (subtractive manufacturing) methods.

20.01.2022 Cable sheave guards designed & 3D printed. Ready to have support material dissolved overnight in tank.

09.01.2022 The Southern end of The Harbour Bridge, under construction in early 1929. The Southern end was started in October 1928 and progressed ahead of the Northern end. This enabled slight adjustments to be made to their alignment during construction. Source: Fairfax Archives.

09.01.2022 In all modesty, I recon I'm pretty good at what i do. However, after recently visiting Temora Aviation Museum, I am absolutely blown away at the level of skill(s) the engineers, tradesmen and draftsmen had in the late '30s & early '40s. No CAD (2D or 3D). All hand drawn, very complex geometry. Outstanding work. Photos of original Spitfire drawings from http://www.plans.aero/
