23.01.2022 Although there are fires raging out the back, the garden is looking oh so lush right now! Makes me want to string up some fairy lights, take the BBQ and some beers and just sit in this great space! Whose with me?!?! #gardenparty This Sunday is our monthly busy bee so we welcome all Kalynda Chase residents to come down and join us from 8am. No matter the colour of your thumbs.... #gardeningjokes See you there! @ Kalynda Chase

20.01.2022 Wow, can you Bee-lieve it is almost here! Bee Cause Day is on tomorrow 8am to 2pm. Come down support the bees, chill out with a coffee and a sausage sizzle. Get involved in the community garden, kids can make a bee craft. Amazing Raffle draw. Free native plant giveaway and so much more!! #beecauseday #kalyndachasecommunitygarden #communityevent #savethebees

20.01.2022 OMG, this morning the garden was MAGIC! If you just walked by it would look like a pretty straight forward garden plot of beds with some plants..... but if you are peacefully tending to the plants, sitting and quietly observing it is so ALIVE with little creatures who are being nourished by what we have created! We have from the start wanted to make a place that would attract bees and other pollinators but personally I have dreamt of Blue Banded Bees by the dozen, lol. This is the first video I have ever captured of these super speedy, fuzzy, fat blue butted, buzz pollinators and what a ripper it is. If you watch this and still feel no love for Bees well you just can’t, not possible! *side note-I realise my youngest does not reflect the serenity or silence of the garden in this video, lol.

19.01.2022 Product testing department. Had to match the flyer though! See you Sunday! #beecauseday #colouringsheet #bluvddesign

19.01.2022 One year on and it is so great to see how much of the plants from last year have unexpectedly regenerated on their own. It really shows how important it is to use low to no chemicals when gardening as most of the tomato and coriander (pic 3) plants popped up after the rains in the walkways of the garden. We dug them up out of the gravel and re-planted in the beds and they are going great guns! We found three oregano plants in one bed which I thought had died (pic 2) and two Rosella plants (pic 1). Having never been able to personally keep a garden going long enough to collect seeds or see this in action it’s feels pretty remarkable to me and proves that anyone can garden successfully. See you in the garden @ Kalynda Chase

17.01.2022 The biggest difference between last year and this year in the garden is the amount of flowers in the beds and I had never really given much thought to the difference these can make to pest control. Life Lesson = Plant More Flowers! #kalyndachasecommunitygarden #communitygarden #marigolds #flowerpower

16.01.2022 #flowerpower is strong in the garden at the moment. I stared at the lime tree for 15 minutes trying to photograph TWO native Blue Banded Bees. Made my day to see them! Happy Fri-yay, see you in the garden.....

15.01.2022 If you attended Bee Cause Day last Sunday we would love to hear your thoughts so please take a minute to complete this short google survey. Thanks in advance! https://forms.gle/gjDyDqceMZ34Dfmn6

08.01.2022 On behalf of the Kalynda Chase Community Garden I would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came to Bee Cause Day yesterday! It was such a great day and everyone put in such a great effort to make it so amazing! I feel confident that we have created a buzz about the importance of bees in our community. We chatted to many residents about joining our community garden and I hope this enthusiasm translates to a wave of new members. The sausage sizzle and raffle have give...n us much needed funds to allow us to continue developing the community garden further. Special thanks to our event partners Bunnings, Townsville & District Beekeepers Assn, B LUVD Design, Townsville City Council, Cr Margie Ryder & David Argent whose efforts could be seen in the days success. So much work and passion given by all. More pics from the day to come so stay tuned. See you in the garden! See more

01.01.2022 We are so lucky to have local lady Mel with her oh so fabulous Miss Macie coffee van on Sunday serving up your caffeine all day at #beecauseday. https://www.facebook.com/missmacieevents/
