19.01.2022 Well this morning our little KAOS 37 made it onto the national Prime 7 weather cross over. Live from the Temora Aviation Museum. Scott did his hair and make up and was interviewed, albeit very briefly, by Sam Mack. Quite an experience seeing how it all happens. Thank you Sam and the Sunrise Team for coming to Temora and helping to promote our little town and our sport. 08.01.2022 Throw back to March 2018 and we picked up our stinger hull and 440ci twin turbo tinny. What a journey she would take us on. KAM Racing was born and KAOS was our ride. This was Scott's second season (first full season) driving a Superboat, our first season as a team, Scott's first time driving a twin turbo and we went out with no real expectations. But then we went to Griffith for Round 1 and we won. Wow. To say we were excited was an understatement. What else could this li...ttle self funded team from Temora achieve? What we did was unthinkable at the start of 2018. We went on to win 3 rounds outright. We then became involved in a tussle with Phonsy Mullan and Team Ramjet who were the reigning Australian Unlimited Class Champion for the previous 5 years. Could KAM Racing continue throughout the season and take out a Championship? We had a number of engine issues throughout the year, as well as a round at Cabarita when Scott had his head on backwards (turns out he had 2 dislocated vertebrae) and we came 7th which made things difficult for us. Anyway, we stuck it out and put together some great runs in the back end of the season, making the final round at Temora being the deciding round for the Australian Championship. KAOS ran well and Scott was focused. At the end of the night we finished 2nd, being pipped by Ramjet. However this meant that we tied for Championship points. We were stoked. We couldn't celebrate just yet as a protest had been lodged by another team. Officials came in. Scrutineers came in and we waited for the outcome of the protest. ALL CLEAR. We had done it. We became 2018 Australian Unlimited Boat Champions. What an honour to tie with a 5 time Champion in Phonsy Mullan and Ramjet. To say we were stoked was an understatement. A lot of hard work and hours had paid off and we achieved a goal that few get to do. Not to mention in our Rookie Season as KAM Racing in KAOS. 06.01.2022 Well we are all packed up and ready to head home to Temora. Fantastic weekend racing in Keith SA. We overcame some small issues and kept it clean and honest all day. Our team captain Scott Krause is amazing. Kept us on the track and we brought home 3rd place in the first round of the Penrite Australian V8 Superboat Championship. Congratulations to all teams for making the trip and putting on some exciting racing and some spectacular crashes. What an amazing sport when you can have these crashes with no injuries.
