24.01.2022 A successful weekend in Wannamal, along with BOS vet & rural services we prepared 96 cows and were able to implant 89 embryos. Fingers crossed for a good result in 6 weeks time.

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Maungahina Stud on a very successful bull sale yesterday. Kamarah Speckles purchased Maungahina Nuggett N277. Semen will be available in 12 months. We certainly enjoyed the fine weather and green grass.

16.01.2022 Results from the carcass comp at the Harvey show have just come in. We did very well coming first in the heavyweights with average pts for the two animals 90.14 one of these also won the champion carcass with 92.40. Also our pen of medium weights came second.

15.01.2022 What a day we had the Bos Vet crew from Dongara implanting embryos from some of the best bulls in New Zealand and Canada out of Kamarah Speckles top donor cows,had a very good implant rate the wait begins 46 out of 50. Last week in 35mm rain we AI 55 cows and heifers to some new bulls not used before in WA cant wait to see the results.

14.01.2022 From this to this. Getting ready to join 50 road trains for Farmers Across Borders. Carting 78 big bales fodder per truck to Cobar and surrounding areas to help some of those in need. Departing WA on the 22nd January arriving on Australia day. Will be our first trip east in a truck Annette as co driver ha ha most likely just to keep me awake, looking forward to be able to help fellow farmers

13.01.2022 Top photo Callamasue M35 2 hours old bull 42kg. Bottom Banjo L34 heifer. Have been calving for 16 days with our first embryos nearly finished and AI finished, had average results but will have plenty heifers to pick from next year 38 calves born with 25 being heifers. 4 from 4 heifers from Monument, 3 from 4 Baxter, 4 from 6 Banjo. Still have 14 embryos to calve from some exciting matings can only hope sexs even out.

13.01.2022 Dry seading before the predicted 20 to 40 mm of rain tomorrow can only hope they are correct, cows wont know what to do in the wet have already put in 130ha oats and clover for an early bite, they say that at the centre off every rain drop is a dust particle so we should get some

12.01.2022 Our top cows about to be flushed next week to some new genetics from Maungahina and some older Canadian and Australian bulls, hopefully the do the right thing for us and will be implanting fresh on the day.

11.01.2022 Awesome results at Wattle Grove sale. Average sale results bulls $11,433 and heifers $13,318. Kamarah Speckles averaged $9375 for 8 bulls and $13600 for 5 heifers. Top bull price $15,000 sold to Lyn Louis, top priced heifer at $18,000 sold to JAD Agriculture. Heidi, the top priced heifer of the day, at $28,000, was born at Kamarah Speckles.

10.01.2022 Weaned yesterday 63 Speckle Park Murray Grey x heifers and steers a bit later then normal, weights down on previous years but looking good for what they have had. Hopefully get Speckle bulls and some more steers weaned end off the week, then the fun of feeding them

08.01.2022 We attended the Harvey show with 3 pens of trade steers 2 pens in the heavy wghts and 1 pen in medium, heavy didnt do so well but a 1st in the medium. Some very good animals in the comp very well finished. They now go to be judged on hook. Will see how we go

06.01.2022 We travelled to the Wattle Grove sale last week to see some of our bred animals go up for sale. The prices were outstanding with the top price bull making $25,000. Wattle Grove Wizard. His Dam was Kamarah Lady Luve L49 Sire Wattle Grove Merlin F67. Top price heifer on the day was Wattle Grove Amanda for $20,000. Averages for animals born at Kamarah were bulls $14,607 and heifers $11,928 top price heifer being Wattle Grove Linett for $15,500. Sire was Kamarah Kasper Dam Kamarah Linet L59. Congratulations to team Wattle Grove for a fantastic sale and a great time had by all.

01.01.2022 Well another trip to NZ to attend the Premier Speckle Park Sale were we purchased Premier 54Z Platinum P5 bull in partnership with GinGin Speckle Park and Maungahina. A great result for Derek and Catherine with a 100% clearance bulls selling to $7,250 and heifers to a awesome price $25,250 to ave $13,300. Thanks to the Haywards for a fantastic time.
