17.01.2022 Rudolf Steiner talks about the 9-year-change and how, at that age, the perception of the child changes and they are more ready to go into the world as their own person. Last week the class 3 children did just that. They had the most amazing time on class camp at Mowbray Park Farm where they got to do whip cracking, boomerang throwing, canoeing, horse riding, swimming and archery. They went on a hay ride, watched a sheep being sheared, fed and milked a cow, baked bread over the fire, got to meet all the animals on the farm and of course they got to sleep in a room with all their friends! They had such a great time and are well and truly on their way towards more independence.

12.01.2022 Our class 5 children went on camp last week and enjoyed two action-packed days out on the water at Chowder Bay with snorkelling, rafting, sailing and stand up paddle boarding. They had so much fun and a lot of unforgettable experiences...what an amazing adventure!

Another gem is a woodfire pizza oven built in 2017, as part of a building project with parents. 11.01.2022 The whole school gathered on the meadow to mark 30 years of Kamaroi Rudolf Steiner School.

11.01.2022 Over the course of three weeks all of our classes are currently participating in some gymnastics sessions where they have the opportunity to learn new skills, improve their coordination and challenge themselves in new ways. Our class 1 children had such a fun time working out some tricky routines on a variety of equipment and are already looking forward to their next session!

08.01.2022 The part of the brain that likes repetitive pattern, the frontal cortex, is associated with numeracy and literacy. You move into that part of your brain when youre seven. Theres always a group of children who turn up to school ready to write, weighted towards first-born children and girls, but theres no extra benefit to that. By the time children are eight, the early learners have the same reading age as those who started at seven. A good solid basis in oral language is what leads to good writing.
