24.01.2022 It’s been a challenging Term 2 for Scouts - big finish tonight with a celebration and some exciting changes. 24.01.2022 Congratulations to the Kama Scout team that won the C.U.R.E. today for the 5th time in a row!! Well done to Cassie, Alexander P, Joshua, Izzy, Max and Tom for a great effort!! They even named the team after a leader...... Good job Frogs!!
23.01.2022 Kama Scout Section is back. They were asked the question and the unanimous response was that they wanted a way to get back to face to face Scouting. First night under new guidelines for social distancing, outdoors, hands sanitised before and after and no sharing equipment - careful, small groups, cool night fun
21.01.2022 Tonight K2 Venturers had a virtual international joint activity with some Rovers from Berlin (16-21) We played a scavenger hunt for common household items with german clues. In return we challenged them to guess the Aussie slang.
20.01.2022 Update on Relay for Life cancellation: Down but not out. So Canberra's 24 hour event at the AIS is cancelled but the Cancer Council still needs funds to support families affected by this disease. They have offered an alternative Relay Your Way.... Our team, Kama Scouts, will be challenging our Group, across Sections and families, to take part in a Virtual Relay to support the Cancer Council. Notes will come from Section Leaders outlining recommendations to safely participate including 2 metre separations for social distancing. The Virtual Relay will consist of 1 hour walking per day for 24 days (achievable for individuals from home under current restrictions or round in circles in your lounge room - fun times - if isolation restrictions tighten). Please register as part of our team or make donations to support us and this very worthy cause at team Kama Scouts https://secure.fundraising.cancer.org.au/site/Donation2 on the website.
17.01.2022 Well done to Bridgette on completing her Adventurous Journey on Saturday as part of her Grey Wolf. She planned a Transport around Canberra Journey, using Buses, Light Rail and Scooters. With lunch at Boundless Playground in the middle. I don’t know about everyone else, but I am now sore in places I didn’t know existed from all the scootering!!

15.01.2022 A lot of character building took place this morning and lots of valuable lessons: 1) it is not a good idea to leave the ski boots behind in the trailer at camp for half the group 2) When the weather forecast says heavy snow it may also mean light rain, drizzle, heavy rain, clearing up, sleet and horizontal snow - all during two hours (good that Scouts always are prepared)... 3) Packing lists are there for a reason - also for day packs... 4) cross country skiing is very different from downhill skiing All in all a good day skiing - not to many pics from the tracks but everyone has had lunch now - does anybody want to build a ?
15.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM CHIEF COMMISSIONER RICK GOODE - 22 March 2020 In line with the ACT Government announcement that will see the closure of all schools in th...e ACT from Tuesday 24 March, Scouts ACT will suspend face-to-face Scouting in the ACT. I am advising that face-to-face Scouting in the ACT is suspended at this stage until 31 May 2020. We will review the need to either extend this or re-open Scouting in the fortnight leading up to this. Scouting, both nationally and locally, is working cooperatively to facilitate continuation of the Scouting program through various program delivery processes. I will advise you of these processes as they become available. We are all aware of the likely impact of this on the progression of individual in the Award scheme and these are also being discussed with appropriate Commissioners. I thank you all for your patience during this very difficult time for Scouting and the wider community and ask you to show the true Scouting spirit in how you respond to this community-wide emergency. See more

09.01.2022 A really busy week for the Cubs!! First was a night of Lots of Knots and Lashings, followed by a weekend away at Cottermouth with a Choose your own Adventure Camp! The Cubs had the freedom to choose what OAS progressions they wanted to do, then come and find a leader to help them do it! Was great to see Cubs teaching knots to the ones that were unsure, and a HEAP of OAS stages were completed by those that were able to join us for the weekend! Special mention to Poppy, who came out with a broken arm and still managed to make progress and stay out for the night! Big thank you also to Koala, Wren and Bear from Scouts who came out for the weekend and helped. Love Bears camping coffee machine too.....
