20.01.2022 My beautiful Frangipani tree is loosing all its leaves and flowers as the cooler weather signals a change. I’ll have to wait til spring for the new growth. So an update on my leak: I now have a hole in my ceiling and plastic over my roof but no more drips! It’s finally blue skies here. How is it where you are? Easter is almost here. 18.01.2022 Looking into colours for my next artwork. I am looking at some nice soft pale shades combined with lots of softer, rounded shaped plants like my beautiful Frangipani.
17.01.2022 I gave this tip to one of my budding artists from my workshop on the weekend. She is a budding aboriginal artist working with those luscious earth colours. She would love to throw in a pop of brighter, more modern colours but gets a little nervous. I am a big fan of using paint swatches. One, they are FREE from the hardware store and Two, they often contain lots of variants and shades so you can work with full saturation or a lighter tone. If you have a base set of colours ...(I often have the colour of my paper to start with) then you can pull out different swatch colours to see how they match or don't. It's such an easy and quick way to create colour palettes! Then I can find or create the matching colour with my paints. Job done! 14.01.2022 Happy Monday!! I had such a great weekend hosting two groups for a Paint n Sip workshop. I really enjoy watching everyone's confidence grow. For me this week I am waiting on a couple of deliveries. I have been working to bring you guys something new so stay tuned! 14.01.2022 I hope you have managed to escape the weekend without getting too drenched. What a crazy weather event. The Eastern half of Australia has just been soaked with most major rivers over flowing. I spent yesterday watching a leak increase with ferocity in my studio but at least we are high and dry compared with some. I have been working on some new things behind the scenes which I will hopefully be able to share with you this week. I am so happy with this latest artwork. Can'...t wait to show you! 02.01.2022 I am feeling very motivated this year to get some new things out. But there is a fine line between feeling excited by all the ideas and overwhelmed by all the ideas. I'm going to take some time this week to do a bit of a check in with myself and see if I am trying to do too much at once.
