15.01.2022 HELPING HANDS FOR FARMING PIONEERS Friends and family have rallied around Mary Valley farmer Bruno Gabbana who's on a long road to recovery after suff...ering a stroke and heart attack earlier this year. People came to weed, whipper snip, mow, prepare beds for new crops and share a laugh ahead of his 82nd birthday on his property in Kandanga, Qld. For decades Bruno and his wife Trish have been much loved familiar faces at farmer's markets across the Gympie and Sunshine Coast regions. Organiser John Tidy said is was amazing to see everybody rallying around to help the family who pioneered organic farming in the district and have given so much to their community. "Thank you all for joining us and making this a special day today, there were times where we didn't think we'd see this birthday," Trish Gabbana said. "We're very pleased that we're here and we've got everyone to celebrate with us, thank you all for what you've done today." See more

10.01.2022 While I was in Kandanga yesterday, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take this ride-on mower for a spin! The Friends of Kandanga Group use it to help maint...ain the RV park and grounds, and it was bought with assistance from a $4,310 grant through the Morrison Government’s $9 million Volunteer Grants Program. Having the right equipment makes volunteering so much easier, plus having beautifully maintained grounds makes Kandanga even more attractive for domestic tourists. It’s a win-win for the Friends of Kandanga volunteers and the community.
