19.01.2022 Singleton Library reopening 2 June We are delighted to be able to let you know that Singleton Library will reopen to the public on Monday 1 June. What has be...come abundantly clear over these past eight weeks is just how loved and valued our library is, and this time apart has been tough on all of us. As always, the health and safety of our staff, readers and visitors is our top priority so we will be fully complying with the NSW Health guidelines to protect everyone who comes through our doors. Initially we will be operating from 9 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday. With physical distancing protocols in place, we will be able to accommodate 65 people at a time in the main area of the library. This will allow people to borrow, return, study and use the free wi-fi or one of our computers. We will be introducing a special hour from 9-10 am each day, where only members of the community in high-risk groups can attend, all other community members are asked to attend from 10am onwards. Public programs and learning activities will continue to be delivered online for the time being. We urge everyone to be patient as we slowly transition back to being a fully functioning library. All overdue fines are being waived from 1st April 2020 - 30 June 2021 It’s timely that the decision to reopen libraries is announced as we head into Library and Information Week (2531 May). The theme this year is ‘create’. Since the shutdown thousands of people have connected with their State and public libraries online for the first time, with over 20,000 new memberships recorded. We hope to see many new faces visiting us onsite in the weeks and months ahead. Singleton Public Library Team
