25.01.2022 Mat chat with Sempai Ev is magical! :) More than punching and kicking. Discipline starts externally, we don't know what we don't know. The 1 rule teaches them about active listening, rules, and understanding the why we do things. The 0 rule, is internal discipline, they know when and where to bow, how to say thank you, and be the best team player at home :)

10.01.2022 We're very proud to announce that Kando is now part of the Australasian Federation of Traditional Karate & Kobudo! Although Kando is a progressive martial art, incorporating various elements of different styles, we have always been proud of our traditional karate lineage. It's nice to maintain the connection to our heritage, as well as future opportunities to train with and learn from some great karateka and kobudoka in the future.

09.01.2022 ***WORD OUT WEDNESDAY: FINAL DATES*** Hello Amazing Kando Family. We are at our last week of the year, and busy wrapping up classes and gradings. Well done to all those that graded last night, good push! ... SOME DATES TO BE AWARE OF: ALL - post the 19th December, we will be closed, and will start back nice and early from the 4th January 2021, on our regular timetable. Kinder Ninjas (3&4yrs) and Little Dragons (5&6yrs) - classes as normal, last set of classes Saturday 19th December, back on the mats for Monday January 4th 2021. Juniors (7-12yrs) - classes as normal, no Junior regular classes on Saturday, 19th December. GRADINGS commence 10am. Please remember, this is a grading to confirm, and remove your provisional stripe, only. Remember to be in full gi, and bring all equipment to the grading. Then, back on the mats Monday 4th January 2021 Teen and Adults - last Adult class is tonight, all belts from 7pm. If you want to keep your belt, you'd be there...just sayin'. ;) Did I say, we're back on the mats Monday 4th January? We will be sending out another email tomorrow, with our set dates for 2021, soon. 09.01.2022 Our community is not just punching and kicking, it is where we give Students the opportunity to be something bigger than themselves, and gain an identity where they also get to develop their Leadership skills. Although this happens on the mats, others take the opportunity further! We have a Leadership program that starts at 10, and teaches both skills on and off the mats, to take with you, forever. Say cheeeeeeeeesssseeeeeee!!!

09.01.2022 Bully Buster Seminar complete for term 1! Wow. We had so much fun teaching this event. This was a 1 and a half hour session, teaching kids on the subject of bullying, knowing how to deal with it from using our strongest weapon (our mind first) and then if all else fails, some quick response drills to get away as quick as you can. The kids here were fantastic, and we hope to see them again in the near future, if not, at least to have them part with the understanding of posture, the power of your own voice, and of course, a little bit of fun on the weekend and something slightly different. :) Happy to run this one again, or even send this one out to the schools in the #Bayside.
