22.01.2022 From Flinders University Good Morning, ... Flinders University will once again be offering uniTEST to your current Year 12 students as an entry pathway for 2021. uniTEST is an aptitude test that has been developed to assess the kinds of generic reasoning and thinking skills that underpin studies at higher education and that are needed for students to be successful at this level. uniTEST is offered to your students at no cost and they cannot be disadvantaged by participating. SELECTION PROCESS Flinders University will select applicants based on both their Year 12 results (60% weighting toward the ATAR selection rank) and uniTEST results (40%). NEW for 2021- Flinders will also consider applicants based on their uniTEST results (100%) as a standalone entry score (subject to SACE completion and any course pre-requisites or specific admissions requirements). PARTICIPATION SUCCESS Since 2014 over 1,000 students have received an offer to their preferred course at Flinders University based on their uniTEST results. This includes popular courses such as Law, Psychology, Medical Science, Nutrition & Dietetics, Paramedic Science, and Speech Pathology. DELIVERY MODE Your school will be required to administer the online delivery of uniTEST, under examination conditions, on your preferred date and time between 9th June and 20th November 2020. The test itself will take a maximum of 2.5 hours; however, 3 hours should be allowed to include administration. Please see attached the ‘Online Test Administration Manual for Supervisors’, this includes instructions about the test conditions and how the test will need to be administered. HOW TO REGISTER To register your school, please complete and return the attached student registration form to [email protected] at least one week prior to your nominated test date. Once we have this information we will be able to provide login details for your students to access the test. If your students do not have a SATAC ID at this stage, please leave this column blank and we will request this information later in the year. Please see the uniTEST flyer attached for additional information and/or distribution amongst your students. If you have any further queries regarding the process and the administration of uniTEST, please don’t hesitate to contact me using the details below.

17.01.2022 The latest from UNE Recently the UNE Vice-Chancellor sent a message to your Principal. As a courtesy, we thought you may appreciate receiving a link to this video message and a shortened version of the accompanying email. Watch Vice-Chancellor's Message Our Guarantee to Your Year 12 Students... Based on your School’s recommendation, the University of New England will guarantee your students an offer to start university with UNE in 2021. How Does the Guarantee Work? Your students will be able to choose up to 3 course preferences in their free online application. Your school’s recommendation combined with academic performance will determine the best offer of a university place for your students. ATARs are not required. We guarantee an offer to every student, if not for one of their three preferences then for an alternative course to ensure that your students have the best chance of success. Alternative offers may be for another degree, diploma or the Pathways Enabling Course. The Pathways course is free and will build their study skills and capability to get them into their course of choice. Your students will receive their offer directly from UNE in November. A UNE Direct Early Entry application does not exclude students from applying through UAC or to any other university, but offers a valuable guarantee of a university place. What Makes UNE’s Early Entry Program so Unique? The UNE Direct Early Entry program has been running successfully for more than 30 years. We understand that an ATAR is score is not the only measure of future success at University. Instead, our approach relies on the School's/TAFE's recommendation of the student, including the student's personal attributes, ability to work and learn independently, as well as their overall potential for academic success at UNE. Benefits of UNE Direct Early Entry: Open to all Year 12 students Students apply directly to UNE online It’s free to apply ATAR or OP score is not required Know in early November that your students you have a place at UNE Most courses can be deferred Study fully online options available for most courses Study on-campus options available for most courses with affordable accommodation in our on-campus residential system. About UNE’s Early Entry Program Contact us Taking part in the UNE Direct Entry program for your school and students is simple. Contact us directly to register your school. Phone Free call 1800 818 865 (weekdays 8.30am to 5pm) Email Email us at [email protected] Yours Sincerely, UNE Future Students team In addition to UNE's Early Entry Program, UNE will also participate in UAC's Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) for 2021.
