21.01.2022 On Thursday 18 March, KHS hosted our first Pop-up Restaurant 'Flavours of Italy' for 2021. The event was supervised by Julie Parsons and staffed by our senior students Lainey, Daisy and Clare as part of their Year 11 assessment. Other students volunteered in the catering crew to support the success of the event. Many thanks to all of our community members that came and supported the event.

18.01.2022 The following guidelines will support schools in ensuring that student attendance and roll marking continues in schools. All students should be either: - at school - at home because they are currently unwell... - at home due to self-isolation requirements - at home because they have a medical certificate which states that they are unable to return to school due to an ongoing medical condition (or in limited cases where a family member has an ongoing medical condition). If a student develops flu-like symptoms while at school, they should be sent home and not return to school until they have received a negative COVID-19 test result which is received and sighted by the school. Students should be marked as ‘Sick’ during this period. If parents or carers believe that their child has a condition which means it’s not safe for them to return to school, they will need to provide a medical certificate. These are likely to be children that are at higher risk. If a member of your family has contracted COVID-19, please inform the school as soon as possible.

15.01.2022 On the 29th March, the U14's Rugby League team went up against Mudgee High at Cahill Park. Our team started strong, opening with the first try which shocked most of the Mudgee players. First half we were only down 16 to 12. The second half we ran out of gas as we only had two subs and the final score ended 36 to 22. All players represented the school with pride and great sportsmanship. A big congratulations to Ky Reddish who got his first hat trick, and also Halli O'Brien ...who could of made Kandos High history being the first girl to represent the school at Rugby League!! The best and fairest awards go to Ky Reddish and Matt Brown, and the encouragement award went to Ryan Mackander. Well done everyone and hope to see the same attitude at our next game! See more

11.01.2022 We are sorry to announce that the Rylstone-Kandos Show will not go ahead in 2021 After a general meeting attended by both committee and general members on t...he 12th of January 2021, the Rylstone-Kandos Show Society has unanimously reached the decision to cancel our Show scheduled for the 26th and 27th of February 2021. Based on feedback and concerns received from committee, members, stewards and the wider community, we feel this is the best decision to make in the dynamic social climate that we are currently experiencing. This decision was one that took much deliberation and was certainly not taken lightly. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this causes, and we understand how disappointing it is to not see the show go ahead this year. We thank you all for your ongoing support and understanding. Please watch this space; the RKSS still plans to offer events where we can get together as a local community and enjoy each other’s company whilst celebrating our fantastic region.

10.01.2022 KHS students represented our school at Kelso High School playing in the knockout CHS soccer competition. The boys played against Kelso High School and were out skilled rather quickly. We declared Kelso the winner on the day and then the boys switched team players and had a very friendly game for the remainder of the time. The highlight was Zac taking a penalty shot out against Aaron, being on opposing teams. The girls played against Orange High School and borrowed 3 Kelso Hig...h School players to field their team. Orange dominated the first half, however the girls dug deep in the second half and their defence was amazing to watch! Well done to all players and thank you to the Kelso players for your sportsmanship and hospitality.

It is designed to assist teachers to identify students who may require additional support in developing their literacy and numeracy skills. Best Start Year 7 is just one of a range of assessments the school uses to assess students.... Notes will go home from school today, please inform the school if your child has special needs requiring support to complete an online assessment.
