25.01.2022 Bob Kelly and two of his mates from Orange paid a visit to Kandos Museum today. Bob worked for a number of years on #2 Ropeway that carried stone from the quarry to the plant. It was great to get the lowdown from Bob on how #2 worked and a few hair raising tales of when it did not work so well.

21.01.2022 It was our great pleasure to have Edward Morrison visit the museum today. Many may remember Edward as the manager of the Kandos Cement plant from 1963 to 1972 at which stage he took up a role at the company head quarters. 20.01.2022 Kandos Museum volunteers turned out today for a Kandos railway station garden blitz. The old falling down wattles will be replaced with new ones, weeds were pulled, roses pruned and mulch spread. Thanks to everyone who came out - many hands make for light work.

18.01.2022 The Kandos Brushman ( Museum volunteer Terry Burrows) has been busy again. This time freshening up the lettering on the PRH 7 cement hopper railway wagon installed at the entrance to Kandos. These wagons were LCH/CCH underframes fitted with a single compartment silo (or pot as commonly referred). The tank was designed to carry cement powder. The contents were pneumatically discharged.

13.01.2022 Thanks to the remarkable Mr Mike Oakey, the Kandos Museum YouTube channel now lists 'Kandos 1996 Home Town Reunion' a home grown documentary by Rolf and Ruth Sommenhalder. With the help of Colleen O'Sullivan, Marie Trounson and a couple of others Mike was able to add subtitles identifying 90% of the interviewees, perhaps the rest will be turned up with your help.

06.01.2022 The Vintage Rail Journeys Southern Aurora rolled into town last night bringing 125 excited visitors to enjoy an evening of Kandos Kulture. Thanks to NEWCo - Emma Syme and Richard Williams for a fine Welcome to Country before the passengers set off on shanks pony or on the streamlined Ansett bus for a tour of Kandos Kultural venues - North East Wiradjuri Centre, Guluu and Way Out galleries and Kandos Museum. Due to COVID-19 health precautions the party took turns to eat a fine country style meal at the Kandos Community hall while being entertained by Swamp Dawkins Band. Thanks to grounded Air stewards and Kandos Museum Volunteers who stepped up and made it all happen. There were smiles on everyone's faces!
