08.01.2022 21 Feb 20: Opening night for Seikatsu Kogei "objects for intentional living" at the Japan Foundation, Sydney. Voluntary simplicity, minimalists, KonMari and the themes of Seikatsu Kogei are no doubt influenced by the lovely collection of essays written by Soetsu Yanagi in the 1920s/30s - 50s and brought together in "The Beauty of Everyday Things". If only Mr Yanagi's philosophies had received popularity sooner, the world may not be in this climate ravaged consumer-culture mess it is currently in and the creations of authentic artisans would prevail.
