25.01.2022 Toorongo River, Noojee, Vic. Ohhhh the moss coverage along this river is amazing. To avoid stepping on the delicate moss, I had to shoot this in the water at 2 degrees. The walk along this river is magical and highly recommended. Well, you sort of have to if you are going to the falls anyway!
24.01.2022 What a week of weather weve had! After todays front, we were left with some great skies full of Asperitas.
24.01.2022 Cheviot Hill Observation post, Point Nepean, Vic. Its always amazing to see the calm beauty in these structures knowing how much death and chaos actually occurred here during WW2. This observation point, looking out over Bass Straight and the entrance to Port Phillip bay, certainly has a fantastic vantage point!
24.01.2022 Easton Reservoir, Jericho, Vic. Reflections and flow!! This is a big bush drive to get here but well worth the trip if you like trout fishing. Plenty of trout in this catchment before it reaches the Thompson Reservoir.
24.01.2022 These power stations are an incredibly disgusting sight to see! As I drove from here to the Avon wilderness area, over 150km away, you could see the apocalyptic scale size pollutants this fossil fuel plant pumps into our air non stop. Hopefully these things are turned off for good one day to let the earth breathe!!!
24.01.2022 Spot the moss. The stunning upper reaches of Cement Creek in the Yarra Valley, Victoria.
23.01.2022 UFOs are landing over the Yarra Valley as we speak!!!!! This beautiful lenticular cloud has been hovering above Warburton for hours due to some pretty moist airflow at the moment.
23.01.2022 Two of the things I'll miss about Victoria. Summer storms and the Mt Donna Buang rainforest! The density and complexity of the upper reaches of Cement Creek are simply stunning!
23.01.2022 UFO's are landing over the Yarra Valley as we speak!!!!! This beautiful lenticular cloud has been hovering above Warburton for hours due to some pretty moist airflow at the moment.
22.01.2022 Amphitheatre Falls, Noojee, Vic. I camped out at Toorongo Falls campground last night completely unaware that somebody had been assaulted and killed 2 days prior only 100m away. All of his setup was there but didnt think much of it until I saw the news today. A tad freaky! It was however, excellent waterfall chasing conditions. Plenty of rain and that sweet flow!
22.01.2022 Loving the sunsets over Melbs tonight!
20.01.2022 Quarantine Station, Portsea, Vic. Last nights incoming weather and sunset certainly made for some sweet long exposure conditions!
20.01.2022 Simpler times in WA. Thinking of my VIC friends and fam.
17.01.2022 Mother nature putting on that afternoon show today.
17.01.2022 Mammatus clouds coming in over Yarra Valley this afternoon.
17.01.2022 Wishing it was just as simple as jumping in the car for an early morning shoot like this!
16.01.2022 Im sure I dont need to say how cold it was this morning. Well for me it was -2! Looking over the Great Dividing Range at 7am this morning almost froze my camera shutter.
16.01.2022 Corrigan Suspension Bridge, Balook, Vic. Following the bridge into the rainforest. Located in the Tarra-Bulga National Park, this suspension bridge really has no point in my eyes but it is pretty spectacular and leads you to some amazing 1,000 year old Myrtle Beech trees along the trails here.
15.01.2022 Tarra Falls, Tarra Valley, Vic. The slipperiest and steepest rocks Ive come across! It is impossible to get front on to these falls but its only a short walk from the car park to the top lookout. You can jump the fence but be prepared for a little slide down in winter.
14.01.2022 Wombelano Falls, Kinglake West, Vic. On Friday, It was wet, raining and slippery as hell getting down past the public viewing area to shoot these falls. Nothing beats setting eyes on new falls you havent been to before and sussing out where you want to shoot. I had to climb up the falls tooyou just never know what unmarked goodies are above or below falls.
14.01.2022 Missing getting lost in the rainforest. Cement creek is one of those places you can explore for hours with every corner having new flow to capture.
13.01.2022 Simplistic sweet flows of the big D.
13.01.2022 Toorongo moss love!
12.01.2022 Snob Creek Falls, Rubicon, Vic. Its pretty hard to get a decent and different composition here considering you have about 3 places to shoot from but the flow was more mental than Id ever seen here.
11.01.2022 Maits Rainforest Walk, Cape Otway, Vic. I was fortunate enough to shoot at this amazing place before it closed for upgrades. The giant Myrtle Beech trees along this walk are absolutely amazing. I havent seen anything quite like this tree anywhere in the Otways.
10.01.2022 Mount Donna Buang, Warburton, Vic. Celebrating #NationalCameraday today, I thought Id sleep in -1 conditions in the car to get trekking up around the mountains early this morning. Im pretty sure Ive seen this rock floating around on the web, so it was an amazing surprise to stumble over this stunning flow. Nature and its beauty never disappoint!... Canon Australia
10.01.2022 Lake Glenmaggie As most of Vic hits full lockdown in 10 mins, its hard not to reminisce on the few months of freedom weve had and the opportunities to peruse our own passions. Fortunately I never wasted a minute of taking it for granted and only 2 weeks ago I took this selfie for myself to reflect the love of outdoors I have. Fishing rod out, fire cranking, stars out and a total feeling of freedom that weve all been searching for.... Sadly this has come to an end but we all need to stay strong and check in on each other to get through this. Peace my friends!
10.01.2022 Was great to see some solid action over most of Vic on the weekend! Fortunately, I have a great view of incoming fronts from my roof and this is where I sat my bum all day long.
10.01.2022 Aire River, Beech Forest, Vic. After shooting at Hopetoun Falls I had plenty of time to kill, so I walked for about 4kms downstream. The dense rain forest, foliage and mystical eerie looking trees kept me keen to see what was around the next bend. If you go to Hopetoun falls, walk the banks of Aire river!!
09.01.2022 Agnes Falls, Hazel Park, Vic. 1 step backwards and its a 60m drop over the edge, but like usual, I had to get the shot! The dirty flow of this river is actually part of drinking water in the below townships around Port Welshpool. Yummy.
09.01.2022 Back in the day, this hike was classified as a Med-Hard grade 3-4 hike. These days it is almost impossible unless you know exactly where you are going and have decent climbing / hiking skills. Parks Vic officially closed this track in 2009 and mother nature has fully taken over. It took over 2 hours to get about 1200m into this track but the untouched beauty was absolutely amazing. I spent considerable time here admiring the delicacy of this little spot.
09.01.2022 What a week of weather we've had! After today's front, we were left with some great skies full of Asperitas.
07.01.2022 Clouds and Cows. Yesterdays beautiful Lenticular cloud hovering over Yarra Valley farmland.
07.01.2022 Grateful to be out exploring Western Australia after the year spent in Vic lockdown!
06.01.2022 Managed to quickly get out for this cold front. Missed a few of the bolts heading SE but the wind driven rain across Melbourne is coming in hard! Its going to be a wet night!
06.01.2022 Stevensons Falls, Barramunga, Vic. Whilst getting to these falls is an easy walk along the Gellibrand River, climbing over the massive slippery rocks with blackberries everywhere isnt all that exhilarating! With huge wind spray coming off these falls, you can see this isnt the ideal clear shot.
06.01.2022 Step into another world.
05.01.2022 Lower Triplet Falls, Wyelangta, Vic. So many levels to be explored at Triplet but its getting down here that deters most people. If you want to get wet, risk death and do some cliffhanger moves, this is the place to shoot!
05.01.2022 Unmarked Falls, Running Creek, Kinglake West, Vic. Im always keen to go where people are too scared to go. This was one of those great exploring days. These falls do not exist on any maps or media and the risks are very high climbing down Running creek to Masons Falls. Its roughly a 2 hour climb down from the first little cascades to the bottom of Masons. I was so happy when I saw a rope to get up to the lookout because its bloody steep and probably impossible to climb. So to the person whos put a 100m of rope out, if youre reading this, youre a legend!!!
05.01.2022 Toolangi State Forest, Vic. Weekends in the bush are the best. Rain and foggy mornings always make that bush glow!
04.01.2022 More perfect conditions for lenticular clouds today.
04.01.2022 Orange Glow sunsets
03.01.2022 Agnes Falls, Hazel Park, Vic. Wishing life was flowing as easy as these falls so we can be exploring again!.
02.01.2022 Always exciting to see a bit of action in the sky!
02.01.2022 The magical big Culvert deep in the Yarra Valley. Dark, leechy and wet! 5 bracketed exposure HDR.
01.01.2022 Murrumbeena Station. This is far from what I would usually shoot but Im glad I had the camera in the car this night. Symmetrically arousing!
01.01.2022 Toorongo Falls, Noojee, Vic. These falls made for some super silky smoothness just before 6:30am on Monday morning. With all the rain of late, it was good to see some nice flow in almost complete darkness (my fav time to shoot) Canon 6dm2 Samyang 14mm
