20.01.2022 An update on KIB trading conditions. Based on advice provided by both state and federal goverments, KIB will remain open for takeaway beers and merch. Today we are open from 11am to 7pm as per usual, so if you need some beers you know where we are! If you need anything, anything at all, just ask us and we'll make it happen. ... As more information comes to hand we'll adjust our strategy if need be, but we remain dedicated to our staff and community. Cheers!

15.01.2022 KIB is back! Friday 11am we are open and trading as usual. Finally, come on in for some froths!!! We have five great brews to enjoy and as a bonus we have our in house wine label ‘Charlie’ available on tap.... yes... on tap, a complete 100% Kangaroo Island grown and made wine that we’ve had a great time making while we’ve been in downtime. We’ve missed you all and can’t wait to share some brews, vino and some mad convos!!!

15.01.2022 Food is Back! KIB now has food to compliment our great brews! This Friday Mike will be on the BBQ providing complimentary snags, chops and ribs from 5:30pm, so get on in it for brews, beef and bad ass vibes! Saturdays and Sundays will see our ploughman’s platters back in house and tea and coffee also. Our ploughman’s consist of toasted cob loaf, olives, brie cheese, dukkah, olive oil, fresh pesto, local salami and pepperoni, pickles, jalapenos, caperberries and relish. ... Hope to see you there!

08.01.2022 Hey Beer Drinkers! A quick update to our trading conditions. With the ever changing COVID19 situation we are receiving ever more inquiries regarding bookings and so forth. We aren't accepting bookings. We are walk in only. All guests need to be seated and it is very rare that we are turning anyone away. Food is available every day. We either have pizzas or ploughmans' platters available. So cheers for your support and we hope to see you soon!

06.01.2022 Hey Freinds! An update on the opening prospects of KIB. We are getting an ever increasing amount of enquiries as to when we are re-opening. The news from the state government has been non specific to cellar doors and unclear to licenced venues at best. Presently the rules as we intepret them are that if you serve a meal, you can serve alcohol. 10 People inside, 10 people outside. ... Therefore KIB's plans are as follows: We will not be opening until we can have a minimum of 20 people inside with out needing to purchase food. The simplicity of our brewery is that you come in for a beer after work or on the weekend and not have to worry about lines or food. As much as this means we may have to wait a bit longer, we will not compromise our service and our requirement to all of our mates and patrons to provide an awesome beer in an awesome space. We wil see you all soon. Keep distancing. It'll be one hell of a party when we get there! Cheers!

01.01.2022 Tuesday 4th August - Covid Update Hey all, just a quick update to let everyone know what the new regulations mean for KIB. Basically we can have 40 people seated inside our venue. This is pretty normal, but if you do have a group, give us a call and let us know you're coming in. We aren't going to take bookings, but if business stays as it has been recently, we won't be turning anyone away. So come on in like usual! Enjoy an ale and keep up the distancing! We'll see you soon!

01.01.2022 Recently announced relaxation of restrictions have required us to provide clarification on terminology. Vertical consumption of alcohol explained: Politicians have now confirmed that enhanced corona virus exposure is not based on the height of the potential victim. Previously believed that seated persons were immune to COVID19, it is now understood the virus won’t be contracted by anyone up to 1.8 metres in height, hence forth allowing people to stand in public. The Marsha...ll government has advised that anyone who jumps vertically will be required to quarantine for 14 days due to breaching the 1.8m height restriction. It is anticipated that shoe boxes, milk crates and step ladders will be allowed within two weeks if case numbers remain stable. Allegedly. Seriously, these announcements are a joke. KIB remains focused on practical Covid safe measures and is dedicated to providing a great environment for our locals and tourists. Come on in for a beer with no bullshit.

01.01.2022 Our Latest Update! Thanks to everyone asking us what our opening hours are and checking in with us! We are very keen to re-open but we have to work with what we are ‘allowed’ to do and what provides the best experience for our customers. Ás per regulations, we can only serve people at tables.. we have one table inside. We can’t let people sit at bars.. we are made up of 5 bars. This is June, it is cold and the rules are arbitrary, but we have to comply. Yes we have tables... outside, but no amount of frostbite will improve the taste of our beer or the health of our patrons. So in short we are not open. Not yet. Not for the long weekend and not until our locals and tourists alike can simply walk to our bar, order a beer and enjoy it along with the conversation of the person next to them. I acknowledge there are campaigns telling people to come back to KI and go nuts with their tourism dollar, but this is from organisations with zero grip on reality. The experience for those tourists will be less than half of the quality that we can provide in three months from now when we are back to operations as per normal. Save your money and bide your time. KIB will not disappoint, we will not rush and we will not provide 50% of what we are good at. Great beers, atmosphere and vibes don’t do less than 100%. Stay tuned!
