25.01.2022 New books are in! I'm very excited! Look in the photo descriptions for prices and information. Also watch this space for our upcoming book sale!

24.01.2022 Pretty proud of our insanely busy last few months! Here is a snapshot from today’s media (excuse the gloat!) In the first shot, a freeze frame from Sky News, St...uart puts the finishing touches on the final bits of the airport at 8pm on a wintry night. The second shot from The Islander - forget the pollies - shows a Big Quince pull up banner, a small last minute plaque we ran up for unveiling, and our three magnificent panels with photos by Quentin Chester and Ninti Media. And in the third shot is of Johnno Johnston and the I work with Johnno - 40 years at KI council sticker designed and printed by, you guessed it, BQP. Oh, and a couple of dodgy photobombers.

22.01.2022 Big Quince Print is pleased to announce that we are upgrading! Sign work remains in its current awesome state, but paper printing is about to take a significant... jump up. We've been working with a high quality photocopier, but are moving to a professional press with a far wider range of capabilities and higher quality output. This means that menus, vouchers, cards, brochures and posters can all be printed at exceptional quality here on the island. Even photo printing will improve as we'll be able to print on coated photo paper. I was going to say "fine print will be easier to read" but who reads the fine print anyway? We've worked closely with Konica Minolta to make this happen, as it is quite a logistical challenge for them to have a machine of this calibre on the island. It will involve extra training for their technical staff - and for us - and they've had to juggle to plan service visits for us. But we've seen the new printer in action and it solves all the hitches we've been having with providing the quality of print we want. Week by week, requests I get in the shop endorse our decision to take this big and exciting step. Menus where the colour is not quite smooth, and the text is not as crisp as I'd like. Folded cards that have to be hand trimmed one at a time to correct the slightly crooked copying. The inability to print photos on photo paper. Requests for me to digitally scan family photos for posterity - and the scanning results are just a bit less than I'd like. The faster, more reliable printing should free me up to keep on top of your orders and design work at the shop. We might even have time to update our own signage!

21.01.2022 So we now, at last, have a website! Still slightly imperfect but we're tweaking a bit at a time. It's testament to the fact that on a small island necessity + word of mouth do so much of your publicity for you that we've only now got around to it! www.bigquinceprint.com.au

For Harry Potter fans: the Crimes of Gr...indelwald screenplay; tiny bendable bowtruckle; tiny sorting hat and Hedwig in cage; and an exquisite pensieve memory set with a replica of the elder wand. We almost sold out of tiny box gifts but a wide selection are back in stock! Brain fart in a box (no smell, sorry, just sound), and a mini book that says quotes from The Princess Bride (because everyone needs quotes from the Princess Bride.) Sophie’s Patch is back in stock along with Kilted Yoga and my favourite title, What Would Alice Do. Our Christmas hours are as follows: Fri 21 Dec 10-5 Mon 24 Dec 10-5 book & gift sales only Wed 2 Jan - Fri 5 Jan 10-5 book & gift sales only with my lovely Mum Mon 7 Jan 10-5 HUGE BOOK SALE BEGINS!! Tues 8 normal hours resume

18.01.2022 Big Quince Print is extremely proud to be associated with the new Kangaroo Island Airport project. However, it means we will be under the pump until the opening on 27th April. We are unable to take on any new jobs until May (apart from small or routine photocopy jobs).... If you have a job in the system already with a deadline before 27th, we will make sure it happens. Some less urgent existing jobs will have to be put on hold until early May - we will discuss these directly with you if you're one of them! Thanks for your patience!

02.01.2022 Hi all, we will be closed this Friday 20/7 as we are heading up to town for the weekend. Apologies for the inconvenience. Back Tuesday normal hours!

02.01.2022 Our new printer is HERE! And because the universe has been pretty encouraging about this step... Stuart received a call from an old army friend on Saturday sayi...ng he was coming down to install a production printer on Kangaroo Island and did he want to catch up! Not making the connection that it was our machine he'd be installing. So Stu & Mike have spent half of the last two days in training sessions, giving Stu the capacity to do emergency fault-finding and servicing (because a Konica agent can't just jump into the car as easily for a machine on KI!) And they've spent the other half of the time reminiscing about the good old days in the armoured personnel carriers with Stu driving and Mike in the turret! We also continue to be wowed by the vastly superior quality of prints from the new machine over a standard office copier, especially on gloss or coated papers. Exciting times!

02.01.2022 2019 diaries are IN STOCK NOW! Luscious Paperblanks diaries - some of them look like ancient spell books, others have whimsical modern artwork. Most are $22.95-...26.95. Durable binding and different formats available (day to a page, week vertical/week spread etc). More Paperblanks coming soon. Check out their website (in the comments) - I’m addicted! (Please note not all diary formats available in Aus. But I will be ordering a range of their new designs)
