22.01.2022 Nick is settling in extremely well since coming in to care. Unfortunately not good news on the boy who was caught in a fence, he was euthanised a few days ago due to further complications. It was the right decision made for the Joey. RIP gorgeous boy.

21.01.2022 Roger the Western Grey Kangaroo who was rescued from the Cudlee Creek fires early this year is enjoying sitting under a sprinkler on a very hot day today.

21.01.2022 When your trying to do fence maintenance and a certain wombat (Bindi) chooses to help out but then decides a sleep on your leg is a much better choice!!!

21.01.2022 Two days ago we had a call out for a 6kg Joey that had been hanging in a fence. The property owner cut him out but after noticing he couldn’t stand she rang for help. After receiving some stitches and medication the gorgeous Joey is now in our care to hopefully make a full recovery. Thank you Trish for helping him and Hazel for assisting me in the rescue. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr... {nBank details Kangaroo Pouch animal Sanctuary BSB 085-232 Acc. 73-365-1695 Swift code NATAAU3305A PayPal: [email protected]

21.01.2022 A huge thank you to Danielle Alice who donated her old washing machine to us, we are extremely grateful! Was very challenging to try and get on top of the washing with so many pouches and blankets to wash daily. Having two machines going at once has made a huge difference.

16.01.2022 Grandpa swampy needing the sprinkler today here in Adelaide with over 40 degrees temperature. Not ideal weather for an old wallaby.

14.01.2022 Gorgeous sunset tonight with a rainbow in the distance

13.01.2022 When the joeys are let out in the morning, Boo Boo an adult Euro believes the pouch belongs to him. Not sure how he manages to get himself in but looks comfortable.

12.01.2022 Cannot resist spoiling ‘Grandpa Swampy’, he is a very old Swamp wallaby that deserves special treats everyday. #Beautiful man

09.01.2022 We had a call from a member of the public who had great concern for a kangaroo and her Joey. After attending and assessing the mother and Joey it was obvious that they had extreme burns to their feet and body. The conservation park where they were located had a controlled burn off recently and this is how they sustained their injuries. A big thanks to Kerry Machado for her amazing knowledge and veterinary care and also to Ella Kuhnert and Hazel Spence for their assistance in ...the rescue. They are now in interim care at our sanctuary before going to the vet in the morning for further treatment and it is hopeful the outcome will be that they are re-released in time back to where they came from in the not too distant future. 09.01.2022 Just wanted to share a beautiful photo of Simone today and a photo taken when she was a Joey. Simone is 14 years old, one of the oldest kangaroos at our Sanctuary. Simone has had some recent vet visits with dental problems but otherwise in great health. Vet bills are an ongoing cost for our kangaroos in long term care. If you would like to contribute to these ongoing costs to allow us to continue to provide the best care possible for these beautiful animals. 07.01.2022 We welcome a gorgeous orphaned 4kg male Red Kangaroo Joey to our sanctuary yesterday. May his life be full of happiness and love.

07.01.2022 Update on the mother and Joey suffering burns from a controlled burn off. We took them to Koala and wildlife hospital to have their wounds treated. They are now back at our sanctuary for ongoing treatment and rehabilitation. A big thanks to Kerry Machado and the vet and staff at the hospital.

07.01.2022 Update on our beautiful female Western Grey Joey we received at the beginning of October, she is now with our younger mob of Roos and has particularly bonded to our Kangaroo Island Roo ‘Jerry’. She is still quite nervous but follows others around like she would with her mum in the wild. Looking forward to better times ahead for her.
